Title: multiple problems, please help
Post by: armagetiton on February 15, 2008, 10:00:12 AM
hello, I just downloaded the game and I am having a few issues with it.

First off, when I start the game, a paper on the clipboard does 360s very fast, it's annoying, but not game breaking.

Sometimes when I start the game in offline practice mode, it freezes at loading the textures.

Finally, when I try to enter an arena, when it manages to load everything, it freezes in the hangar with the graphics messed up.

My specs are:

windows vista 32 bit
2 gigs ram
AMD athlon 64 X2 dual core 4800+
Nvidia 8800GT 512MB

AMD and Intel Multi-core CPU's (http://forums.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=199451)

This should fix some issues.

Also, if you are using Vista, this might help:

actually, a simple reboot helped solve most the problems... I was able to practice fine, however when I attempted to go online again, the loading screen froze after "textures loaded".

Ill try a few things in those links.

With a dual core AMD CPU and Vista, you are going to need to run the game in compatibility mode to force the operating system to keep the game on one CPU.  It is a bug in the AMD CPU we happen to hit.

Right-click on the Aces High II startup ICON, then select "Properties", then select the "Compatibility" tab and check the option to run the game in compatibility mode and select "Windows 98/ME" compatibility mode.

That is the only way the game has a chance of running stable under Vista with a dual core AMD CPU.

Skuzzy,

I still have the warping problem with Vista running at the suggested 98/ME compatibility mode.  Will the Vista SP1 fixes this issue? or it's strictly an AMD issue!!
