CHICAGO (AP) — Self-made business tycoon Steve Fossett, whose thirst for adrenaline drove him to fly around the world solo in a balloon, climb mountains and aim for speed records, has been declared dead, 5 months after his small plane vanished. He was 63.
Fossett was last seen after taking off in a single-engine plane from an airstrip near Yerington, Nev., heading toward Bishop, Calif.
Fossett was inducted into the National Aviation Hall of Fame in July.

I want to know what will happen to the car he bought from Breedlove.
Will someone see what it can do?

He prolly just went AFK for a minute, and he thought his auto-climb was on. But it wasn't.

This guys was a bad ass.
I think he may have bit it into some water (my theory anyway)... His E.L.T. was never set off, only because he didn't turn it on himself -it was on his watch.
to him and his family

Yeah, I wonder just what exactly happen to him, I mean they never even found the plane he was in. Do you know if there was any bodies of water around the area he was flying in?

I did giggle a little at first, then I felt bad.

His flightpath covered a lot of rugged country. A small plane crashed on a mountain could be very hard to see, especially if there was no fire.

Well hopefully some day they'll find it so his family can give him a proper burial.

I read on wikipedia that during the search for him they found 8! previously uncharted crash sites. They must have searched alot of ground to find that and it makes you wonder just how many of these missing planes there are scattered around the US, and and the world for that matter.
Hopefully some of those 8 sites can be identified and some families get the final word on what happened to their lost relatives.
