It's temporary. SHawk often changes the squad name to reflect deep philosophical issues. Apparently, he is having a hard time getting vanScrew to speak up.

Saw it in your sig, have you read the book?
If not you should - 3/4's through it now and it is very good.
< $7 for hardback above, great price too

I've got a small collection of biographies. I like to read them on the beach in the summer.
My favourite was saburo sakai's, but First light (geoffery Wellum) and tempest pilot (C. sheridan) are both very good. Johnnie Johnson, al deere.
My biggest disappointment so far was Galland's book I was hoping for an insight into the Axis viewpoint but got nothing but luftweenie chest thumping of how great the luftwaffe were :t
I've got 3 on my desk that need to be read. Some US accounts saving them for now.
I should get something up on our website like a book review kind of thing.
There are some great tales out there that cost very little to read. If anyone gets burn't out of AH I suggest they go find them to re light their passion.

According to records i've seen 7 Americans took part in the BofB and 1 died.
An extreme minority but if that books tells us all about them I'll buy it.
We have 1 Active American in our squad in honour of the above. He is truly a class act and a great stick.

I found the book was more interesting and offered a great viewpoint of the luftwaffe pilots, from the easy days of France and Poland to final days of allied bombing.
-
I don't recall anywhere in the book where he describes any fighter action that he himself participated in.
More of a luftwaffe walkthrough of the war as a whole.
-
I've read "The Few" about 5 times. Excellent book.
Its a shame noones heard of most of those guys- only ones I was familiar with were Red, Shorty and Andy Mamedoff. The other four I'd never heard of.
-
Does that mean I can have your sheep herd Vans? I already have names for them but willing to take suggestions. Top 5 rule.
-
Why do i get the fealin' these people have been on the end of vans guns to many times?Sensing some kinda hateful grudge.
Watched him land i think 6 or so kill in a row a few nights back in a p40.
For whatever its worth. :aok
