I wonder what causes that?

The teenager, who will be 17 on Monday, comes from the remote town of Leones in the central Argentine province of Cordoba. She had her first child when she was 14 followed by a set of triplets the next year and another set of triplets this year. The children are by 3 different fathers.
The story I read in the Dallas Morning News said the girl's mother tried to put her on contrception but the doctors said she was too young for family planning.

Wow, 16 and already has 7 kids, and has been pregnant 3 times. That has to be a record for having that many kids at that age. I'm sure she's not done either, I'm sure she'll have more kids, and if this is the second set of triplets she just might have another set. Now since this kid is promiscuous the government has to pay for it.

Well the article doesn't say, but it does say there all by different fathers, so theres 3 of them out there. I'm sure there probably around her age too, and guys that age don't make for good supporters, usually.

She really is super smart. The government already gave her free land and built her a brand new home after the first set. Now she can ask the government to give her an even bigger house.
Practically everyone in rural Argentina is Catholic, so she really cannot be criticized. That is because she is being an extremely good Catholic by not using birth control, which the church does not allow.
In the book of Genisis alone, GOD SIX TIMES issues orders to "BE FRUITFUL AND MULTIPLE". All she is doing is simply obeying GOD'S Holy Law.
Surely no one here doubts the word of GOD as being wise beyond our human understanding. Unfortunately, she is also violating GOD'S law, by not being married.

Dammit, poor people are always crapping out kids at an amazing rate.
Unless the woman gets a steady supply of DHA and EPA (fatty acids from fish), it takes about 4 years to replenish that supply of fatty acids after having a child. Those fatty acids are vital to healthy child development (especially the child's brain).
In other words, pooping out a bunch of kids quickly makes each one a little dumber than the last.

good for her, i hope she has a long and happy life watching them turn into people. she must be strong beyond average to handle such labours. i see no reason to damn her for bringing new life. one of her kids might cure cancer, then you must appologise for moaning about tax $$.

They live in rural Argentina, and have a mother who at the age of 16 had 7 kids, I really don't see curing cancer high on the list of probable futures for these kids, sad as that is.

Actually, the under 5 years old mortality rate in Argentina is over 3 times that of the United States. And several European nations have better rates than the USA.
So what the children definitely do have a much higher chance of doing is dying.

You are probably correct, they more than likely will become peasant style farmers or labourers, producing food , goods or services every day of their lives.
How many "well-educated-only-child-from-a wealthy-family" have cured cancer so far?
How many have produced something usable or edible every day of their lives?
Who will have the bigger carbon footprint?
Who's existence will deplete the resources of the planet more?
Who would last the longest should the other suddenly cease to exist, the poor farmer or the medical research scientist?
Humanity has lasted millions of years without a cure for cancer, how long do you reckon it would last if no one grew any crops or raised any animals?
How many times has an Argentinian farmer rung your house at dinner time asking for a donation?
What about someone asking for money for cancer research?
One, by merely surviving and reproducing is a success, the other has yet to come up with anything really successful.
One garners respect, the other distaste....it all seems a bit backward.
Come on folks, just because someone's way of life is vastly different than what you think of as normal, doesn't mean it is wrong, or somehow less worthy.
I wonder if the government assistance in remote Argentina extends as far as building a school and supplying a nice yellow bus?
Did it where you grew up?
Do you reckon that sort of thing might have an effect on a young girl's life and at what age she starts having kids?
Not everyone's life and surrounds are so comfortable it includes internet access, doesn't mean they are any less deserving of life or respect than we are.
Also, women have been giving birth in their early teens for millenia, it is only reasonably recently that it has become anything but the norm.
The only thing remotely unusual is the multiple multiples thing.

Also, abortion is totally illegal in Argentina. Doctors that perform abortions are subject to serious prison time there. So once pregnant, she HAD to give birth to the children, no matter how low her age was.
Most ironically, complications from illegal abortions is the main reason why the maternal death rate in Argentina is so very high. Legitimate doctors will not attempt them, due to the strict laws. Desperate women thus have to literally turn to criminals to get an abortion.

The article doesn't give any specifics on the fathers, or the conditions under which she got pregnant. With that in mind, if she was raped is she still a slut?

haha. Honestly though, hope it wasn't all due to rape...I wonder was a 16 looks like after having 7 kids. We had a girl at my high school have two. One in 7th grade, one in 10th grade... She turned into a hippo.
