While in game, I can hear all voice communications fine: However, I can not get my mic to work.  It currrently works fine using other voice programs like ventrilo.

After reading the posted "voice" section, it states I should open up my sound mixer and select the microphone as your recording device.  Make sure the microphone playback is muted and boost is selected if it's present.  I'm using Vista and can not find this option any where.  Let alone where to test the mic.

Any help would be appreciated.

I can't speak to Vista, but in XP the path is:
START > PROGRAMS > ACCESSORIES > ENTERTAINMENT > SOUND RECORDER

If you find s "Boost" option box, try checking it. Once you've made a successful recording you can test your mic in-game by typing your player ID in the VOX radio/text box.

Good luck& welcome to the game :aok

Actually I use that and can record my voice in decent quality using the windows sound recorder. However my in game vox still sucks. I have enabled the mic boost, but still no joy. Vox works reasonably well for a few mins, then its garbled again.

I found that I had to keep Ventrillo off when running AH to fix my Vox problem.  My xmit in game would be nothing but static.  I never did find exactly what the conflict was, but I did determine that having Vent off fixed it.  Tuning radio 5 to your own game ID is the best way to troubleshoot in game.

When you get this figured out, please post the resolution here.
It could help somebody else later.
Including me :D
