Spitfire Mk I P9372, coded GR-G of No. 92 Sqn RAF, Hornchurch, circa June 1940. P9372 was operated over France during the Dunkirk evacuation.
Dark Green/Dark Earth uppers in the A scheme, Aluminum undersides with wings in the Night/White ID markings. Standard 56" type B roundels on upper surface of wings with 35" type A fuselage roundels with 5" red centers. The yellow outer ring had yet to be added. As the aircraft was operating over the French mainland, 45" type A roundels were applied to the under surface of the wings, the port one with a thin yellow surround. No fin flashes were carried. Note the gas detection square on the port wing.
