Title: Iranians rebel against modesty police

Very cool news, the external image we get of Iran may not be representative of what's really going on.  As part of the theocracy, police are being used to arrest and punish people not acting in accordance with strict doctrine, including women who dress 'immodestly' (which can be as little as an exposed calf, for instance, or face).

But this story suggests that the theocracy may be facing some real pressure by the citizens.

Good stuff, I hope there's more along these lines going forward.

Nice find, very interesting.

Perhaps even more surprisingly,  Iran is second only to thailand in the number of transgender operations performed every year.:huh   BBC link (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/7259057.stm)
