Title: Question about finding a grave in Scotland
Post by: ridley1 on February 28, 2008, 02:34:30 PM
Nothing in stone, but looking at family trip to the UK in the fall.

My father passed 12 years ago, so All my info is from memory. Even when he was alive...you couldn't get much out of him. No other relatives I can talk to.

My uncle (his brother) was KIA on Aug 14, 1944. Member of coastal command, Sunderland crew (pilot I think).  I believe that his death was weather related, and not by enemy action. I remember seeing photographs of his funeral, and I know he's interned in Scotland.

Anyway...how would I track down the cemetery he's in?

Should be able to find a directory of the cemetaries... and ask each one if he's buried there.

Mmmm. thank god for Vonage...calls to the UK are free.Assuming burial site is going to be near the coast.......Well,  that narrows it down a bit.
