Is that a Camaro? If so have you seen the new one?
-
I recognize the gal as the one who's in your avatar. Is the guy you?
-
No, that's not Doug, lolz.
Yes, that's a Camaro, same one in my avatar, same one I drive daily. Yes, I've seen the new one.
Yes that's me on the left and Ginger, or as 88 calls her "Spider Lady" on the right.
-
Cool, how nice! =)
-
Lol, nice edit Texasmom. I thought the first version was much better. ;)
-
Does Texas allow tinted windows? If so, blacken that baby out.
-
When that pic was taken the windows weren't tinted. Now they have the darkest allowed under Texas law.
-
Hey man, where's the new wheels?
-
The new wheels are sitting at the Mercedes shop waiting for the new tires to drop next week. Should have them on sometime Thurs. or Friday.
-
Lumpy, I often go back & edit my posts. My father & husband & one of my sons browse through here sometimes. I don't ever want to put them into a position where they think: "Oh man, I can't believe my (daughter/wife/mother) just said that."
-
I see the gal..what car? :D
-
how fast is it in the quarter?.. I don't remember
-
Heh, well it wasn't THAT bad Texasmom. ;)

Have to ask whiteman. He's tracked his and I haven't. Other than his being an A4 and mine being an M6 our cars are mechanically identical. I think he ran a 12.9 at 108 or so.

In the twelves... that's quick :)

HAHA, compared to what I'm used to it's lightning quick. But on LS1Tech just breaking into the 12's is slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. :D

Nah, I think anything under 13.0 is pretty darned quick. Besides being faster than that has it's downside. I could break any time even though I've beefed everything up. With the IRS, the half shafts and spindles become the weak part after you put in a d44
12 secs is fast without really twisting the car and asking it to do things it wasn't originally built for. IMHO
-
Well, like I was saying, 12's is lightning fast compared to what I'm used to, my old 3.8 Camaro. Back in high school if you had a car in the low 14's you were competitive. If you could get it in the 13's you were pretty much king. 12's was like the holy grail for most of us back then. And I know what you mean by taking it easy on the rear end. When I get my 295's tires on the back I am not going to be dumping the clutch at all.

Wow you got away with that for a while, im surprized, what with all the sharp tools we have here in the O club and all.
-
Awe, you're bad. :lol Maybe I should have left the unedited text that first time around after all. ;)

-puzzled look-
Camaro never had an 'IRS' or half shafts to worry about.
There are some people runnin 9's in the quarter with their Vette's IRS ..most use hardened shafts just in case, there are some who dont tho.
There's even one guy runnin *eights* in the quarter ..on an IRS, in a black C-5.
And yes he drives it on the street.
Because he can.
They're pretty tuff these days.

No, it never had an IRS but it does have a really, really weak rear end. Not unheard of for even a stock engine to break them.
-
Ya .. dana 44 is an ok replacement I hear .. unless you wanna go really fast.
If it's gotta be there every time, no matter what .. there can be only one.
Dana 60.
Everything else is second-best.

LOL ~ Diablo ~ you know what this reminds me of? About 20 years ago my little brother (about 10 yrs old at the time) cut out his face from a photograph and taped it into a body building magazine ~ onto one of the guys who had a pretty gal draped all over him ~ buff muscles, grinning girl & all that.
But he didn't tell anyone about it. He just let whoever flip through it find the thing & crack up laughing.
Heh ~ LOL ~ who needs photoshop?
-
Here ya go DT. Revised photo. :rofl :aok

I never said it did. And here are plenty of people out there who are breaking half shafts. I would bet sums of money that any 9 sec vette w/ IRS has broken a half shaft or two.

Nah, let fireguy1 make more pictures declaring "WTF" about the first picture. Maybe after a couple times he'll get it.
-
Heh... You guys...
I saw it was fake and figured it was so obvious, I didn't bother commenting. Back when I was your age (haha) you'd usually see these things at carnivals. For $10 they'd take your picture and put it on the cover of almost any magazine in print. I never had $10 so I never did it, but I guess it was a popular thing to do.
I guess I'm still puzzled how anyone could have thought it was real :)
