This water tower sits about 30 yards from my place. Last week it started leaking. It's been below freezing, so some neat ice has formed on it. Tomorrow I plan on climbing up there and getting my picture taken on it. The city plans on tearing it down when it gets warmer. Too bad. It's one of my favorite rappelling spots and right on the edge of my yard. Now how am I going to get the neighbors to shake there heads at me??? If you look close you can see two streams of water shooting out the right side near the top. Some of the hanging ice is over 30 feet in length.

Cool picture.
I wouldn't stand under it though, a falling piece could mean instant death.

Are those power lines next to a watertower that's leaking and full of ice??? Holy Schniekies! Probably not the best spot to go climbing!! :O That's gonna leave a mark.

Yeah, some of those are as big as trees. The police have it all taped off & they've closed my road right after my driveway. It's funny, in this lil' town it's become a front page tourist attraction. I keep getting blocked in by gawkers' parked cars:rolleyes:
The power lines aren't near it. Just the angle of the pic.

There was a water tower just like this one in my home town of 700 peeps. The big thing was to climb up the tower at night and put graffiti on it. I did that once when it was drizzling and I got freaked out because of my fear of heights and the slippery rungs on the ladder.

My last time up & off it was for my daughter's birthday party last August. Just to be a show off, I did a "Dead man's aussie rappel" (dive off head first, freefall til a couple feet from the ground, then yank hard to a sudden stop. My mom got it on video. I thought about U-tubing it to show y'all sometime, but I'd need to edit the sound big time. Ever hear 30 11-year old girls screaming in terror? Oh...my...god. Dang near blew the video camera's mic!:lol
