....in particular if you are a SAPP P38 pilot, and even moreso if you fly a P38G :)
I guess this is what would be known as a "Corkified" P38G. Everyone wants a piece of it! :)

Well, it's not so much that the game is silly, it's just that a lot of people that play it are, which is this games bane.
Enuff said.

What's not shown in this picture is the LA7 setting up for the kill stealing head on.
-
Still drawing lots of attention Dan lol. Good to see it still had both it's wings !

"hey guys, watch me flying into a horde of dweeb planes then call them silly for all shooting at me"
:p
-
I got myself in a similar situation (from what that screenshot describes) when I flew my meek zeke into an enemy dar circle at 10K-ish. The main fight was not too far away at another enemy base, but nevertheless, five or so enemy cons decided to up and go for the one and only dot in that particular base's radar. Just li'l ol' slowpoke me (and not much of a threat). I managed to shoot down three of them, an F4F, P38(j?), and a Yak9U before two more unknown cons shot me down.
Again, I got myself into that situation, but my main gripe at the time is that it appeared that the enemy cons were eager to shoot me down only to compete amongst themselves for the one and only kill in the vicinity. Typically if the situation were reversed, I usually ask before jumping in on an enemy with a teammate.
Oh, well. Those Rooks had to work at killing me anyway, so it wasn't all bad.

Looks to me like everyone DID get a piece of you, they just looking for more!!! You must be a tasty SOB :D

Thats one way to look at it. I think its just lame. No one is even trying to engage Ltrouy...
I can see two guys jumping in to clear their buddies 6. It shows a lack of respect for your fellow players.....
If there is one guy on i always ask if help is needed. If two are on not much chance of reverse and i just keep flying.
Like a pack of wild dogs.

That's just the typical bish. I was in FT/TT last night in P38 with engine out and it still took 4 of them to kill me.
-
Hey that`s some great fun..............but not too many think about having fun. Got to watch them important stats and all.
-
And they yelled at each other all the way back to base about who stole who's kill. Morons!
-
popular guy, they must have had you oiled up and ready to go.

Sir, your answer is right in your face.
They're all Bish.
Everyone knows bish horde. They must... their gunnery is horrid and have to get as many of them at once to fire to even hope for a hit.

Yup all those "Lgays"...........

This is when you jump in the back turret and blast em all dan.
donkey :D

It's what you can expect from Bishops. Thats why when you fly with em, you had better learn to watch your own back.

1. The picture shows...?
A. a P-38 getting gangbanged.
B. a P-51 trying to finish a crippled P-38 that has decided to dive into a group of enemy planes hoping to pick one off before his demise.
C. two Rook P-38's and six Bish at the edge of a furball.
2. The three Spits and the Ki-84 are about to...?
A. each take a shot at the crippled P-38.
B. take a vote to decide who gets to kill the P-38.
C. each assume the others will go after the perfectly healthy P-38 coming at them.
3. The P-51 is about to...?
A. have his kill stolen.
B. get blown to bits by the other P-38 because his "friends" are target-fixated on the cripple.
C. A & B

well said. i think corky knows im just teasing.
what he fails to show pictures of is that he most likely just blew through that bunch and took a couple of their buddies with him, they ain gunna let a p38 take the piss like that very long. thats the reason he (and many people) flies it i think, because you are certain to find someone willing to fight a p38 almost any day. the flip side just like with 262s tempest etc etc is that often you find yourself a marked man in an uneven battle.
great for producing amusing pictures though :D
-
The picture also fails to show the two or three friendly rooks at a higher altitude just above corky's p38. They were fighting an equal matchup, but the bishops all gave up their altitude when the saw the lower 38 and hoped for an easy kill.:p

I got a bit Corkified (hehe) yesterday in TT. Zeke dove from 10K on me, kept up with my Pony long enough to do some damage, P-47N joined the slaughter, and both just started pumping led into me. I decieded to make 1 final move before I died, so I went vertical (45 degrees), cut my throttle to 0, and listened as the zeke and jug got closer and closer while shooting bullets everywhere. Luckily, somehow, they both overshot, I throttled up, hit WEP, and ran for home.
Two fuel leaks, radiator hit (engine soon cut out due to overheating), left flap gone, rudder, 2 or 3 guns out, and a few hundred more holes in several different spots.

And yet not 1 bullet hit my cockpit. :lol :D

Your engine has a fully functioning lubrication system and the aircraft gear seems fully functional.
Plus you have a fully operational flap on your starboard wing as well as two ailerons and two elevators!!! when we all know we only need one of each!!

Hey! A dweeb like me belongs in horde of dweeb planes :)
Can't be fun if you aren't down in the mob mixing it up:aok
Another view of another flight from the same night. Amazing how many holes a 38G can get :)

 Yeah, it is really only Bish that do that sort of thing.
I have a good screenshot to illustrate my point, but for some reason all I can get out of Mediafire right now are red X's.

Only setback with the bish. It's very frustrating. There was this one time i saw 8 bishies on 1 rook La and they werent taking him down. I piped up with my big mouth and said "Hey you guys need help over there, it seems like he's winning" lol

And if you believe that it's typical Bish, Rook or Knit, you are thinking too hard :)
I'd suggest it's just typical as people like their 'attaboys" for landing their kills and don't care much how they get them, even if it's by being part of the horde.
There were 8 of us from the 80th up the other night and we started Bish as they were low, went Rook when they were low, and went Bish again when it swung back. Generally the bad guys were higher then us and more interested in taking the base or not engaging unless they had alt and numbers. In each bunch there were individuals who wanted to fight and there were those who only engaged when there was no 'risk'.
Not complaining, as we had a blast fighting the crowd that day regardless of who we flew for or against.
Of course many of us who bounced to low numbers were getting ripped for being traitors and spies too :)
Ahh if I could only take this serious :D
