Title: Landing GV'S
Post by: Yarbles on March 03, 2008, 03:53:43 AM
If you have spawned away from your base and got a few kills etc how do you land. Do you have to drive all the way back or can you some how land at the spawn point. If so how do you know you are at the spawn point?

guesswork really,

If no enemy is around you can land on concrete in their town, on most maps.

If no enemy are within 6K of you, you can land on your spawn points and town.

So would you line yourself up on the map spawn point using maximum zoom?

as long as your behind the arrow or behind spawn point.

It is easy to judge if friendlies are upping obviously.    Or get a squaddie to come in quick to see where he spawns.

You absolutely do not have to land on concrete, in town or near spawnpoint if undamaged and no enemy is around. You can land anywhere in enemy territory in this case. And if an enemy is around, even landing on concrete won't help you if it is in enemy territory.

Actually the spawnpoint has no role in landing vehicles at all.

Lusche is correct. Landing your "GV" is a guessing game if your NOT at your own field. If there are enemy near you (a magical distance but most likely icon range), either on the ground or in the air, then you must land on your own field's road or concrete to be "successful". If there are no enemy in icon range you can land anywhere you want. I've landed in the woods, at an nme hanger, stuck in water, pretty much anywhere as long as it is clear.
The last patch fixed it so that you can land on your own roads as well as concrete making your landing spots more readily available.

Subject to review but that's the best I know of. :)
