I know HT is busy with getting all the planes and new gv's up to speed with the graphics and physics, but how about a touch of brains and a new skin for the poor boy's getting shot at trying to take a town?
I'm not talking player controlled or "Super" AI bots..but give them enough "Sence" that they spit up in grps of 2-3 and make rushes at a map room in random intervals from diffrent directions.
Also the pilot skin has to go!:D All of us know the only thing a pilot would look for in a town is a bar..or the "Red Light" district!!!:aok Who care's which kind of grunt it is, just dress the poor B@#$ard in something other then a flight helmet and a lifevest!

Maybe they could dodge intended harm by chicken dancing on the way in?

When you drop them from a c47 your able to disperse them in a wide area if preferred or just land them for a straight line approach. Either way they have a chance of being shot and there is only one way into the map room for now.

Replace troop drops with Sheep drops. Take the town easy! :D

Would be nice if the troops fire at enemy units, such as Jeeps, M16s, or even planes for that matter. Right now they look like Police men, "Stop, I'll shoot!"

I would just like it if my troops would stop scaling buildings and trees flashing the big red troop icon to the NME GV's and planes as you try to sneak a base out from under them lol.
Also another little question, Why the hell do the troops always have to enter one side of the map room? I mean if you were one of those troops and were droped off right outside the far side of the maproom from the hangers on a VBase would you intentionally run aound the map room, moon the guys defending the base and run in from the hanger side on a Vbase?

I agree with both suggestions. They should be simple manipulations in the gaming code.

If you have done your job right there won't be anyone around to shoot your troops!

Instead of HT taking time to re-write the code for this, why don't you just drive your M3 around dropping off 2-3 troops at a time from different locations? The time it takes to get from one drop-off point to the next will also give you your random timing.
You could do that in a goon too.

A 'test" movie I made with FRAPS (the first one with FRAPS) has a cool Pilot modelled. I was just messing around, but zoom (fast fwd) to the end where he bails! LOL

i agree only on one thing.changing them on how they look.instead of a pilot looking dude with a hand gun.how about a real airborn ranger with back pack and a rifle in hand.and if we had to shoot.instead of a lil .45 cal.how about a m-14 rifle.thomson 45 machine gun,m1garande. now thats how a paratrooper should look.. :salute
