Title: Could there be some middle ground here for Texas Mom and Lazs?
Post by: Ripsnort on March 03, 2008, 12:39:40 PM
Apparently women are liars. And do so to survive. I can't help but think of "survival of the fittest" concepts here. :)

Most females lie "more cleverly and successfully than men" about everything from cheating on their spouses and shopping binges to barhopping and facelifts, according to a new book published this week.

"Women lie as a survival technique, but also to get what they want," Susan Shapiro Barash, author of "Little White Lies, Deep Dark Secrets: The Truth About Why Women Lie," told the New York Post.

Barash interviewed 500 women nationwide and found 75 percent lie about how much money they spend, while more than 60 percent admitted to cheating on their husband.

Motherhood came in second, followed by sex, their kids' accomplishments, love, family, addiction, work and infertility.

But admitting to cheating on their husband isn't lying... it's admitting.

I never had any problem with you at all Lazs. :) But I still got a kick out of it.
*edit* just roll with it & call me a liar. :) I'm so good at it that none will know what it is that I'm lying about.

I don't believe that the message here is that all women are liars.   But instead, that the best liars are clearly women.

If you had ever gone through a divorce with an ex-wife, you would know this for a solid fact already.

There are some good male liars.   Men like Scott Peterson and Drew Peterson come to mind.   ( It still freaks me out that these two scumbags have similar names ).

Isn't admitting to cheating on their husbands the same as admitting to lying to their husbands? :)

That is not at all true.  Manson was not present at these murders.  He gave orders to his followers to go out and kill, but said nothing about doing what was done to the pregnant Sharon Tate.  He had never even seen her himself.

He was actually never convicted of murder himself.  Instead, he was convicted of conspiracy to commit murder.   And under California law, he was subject to the same penalty as murder.

Manson follower Susan Atkins confessed to another jail inmate after her arrest that it was she who killed and mutilated Sharon Tate with a knife, and that was used in court to help convict her of the murder.  Manson follower Patricia Krenwinkel was busy killing coffee heiress Abigail Folger at the same time, and follower Tex Watson was busy killing both of the men: Roman Polanski's good friend Wojciech Frykowski and famous hair stylist Jay Sebring.

The due date for Sharon Tate's baby was only 9 days away when she died.

He was convicted of the murders under the joint-responsibility rule of conspiracy.

Back in the day there was quite a stir caused late, late one night when an unnamed person and his band of hooligans rode into the small town of Farmersville Tx. (Tex`s home town) , parked on the town square and waited for the City Marshal, (glorified term at the time for night watchman in small towns) , to come around.
When he came around to see what was up, the unnamed person explained that he had been away in another state for quite a while and was seeking information on the  current location his old buddy Tex.
Ever seen a City Marshal roll up his windows, lock his doors and speed off?
The sleepy little town and surrounding areas got livelier in the middle of the night than it had ever been. :)
Thank heavens for back roads.
The things you won`t do when your young and bored. ;)

They aren't admitting it to their husbands, only to the survey.
