Would be a really good addition.
It would give the criminals from the southern hemisphere one of the planes which they built, and the Mk. 21 had 4 x 50 cals, and 4 x 20mm, which means that it would differ enough from the Mosquito in terms of armament to make it worth taking.
Also the torpedo/bomb/rocket weapons loads would make it a lot of fun.
Mk 21
The Mk 21 was a variant of the Mk X constructed in Australia. The first Mk 21 flew on 26 May 1944 and 364 were completed between then and the end of 1945. The main differences between the Mk X and the Mk 21 were the use of a Sperry auto pilot, altering the shape of the nose, and the use of four .50in Browning machine guns in the wings in place of the six .303in guns carried by the Mk X. The Mk 21 entered services with No. 30 and 31 Squadrons of the RAAF, and briefly with No. 93. The Mk 21 remained in Australian service until 1957.
Engine: Two Bristol Hercules VIII radial engines
Horsepower: 1,720
Speed: 323 mph
Ceiling: 26,500 feet
Range: 1,500 miles
Armament: Four 20mm cannon under the nose and four .50in Browning machine guns in the wings.

Lol furball!
Yes I would like to see this ugly looking monster aswell.
But you would have to come out of retirement to kill in it!
-
"Criminals" pffft
It's as ugly as sin, it would get kill the same way Medusa did. :lol
I'd like to see i t added for sure:aok

i would deffently like to see the beaufighter. :aok

Big yes on this one!

Big ol yes on this one...
seems to be one of the more logical choices as well.

Yep, been wishing for a Beaufighter for a long time. That's a bird that covers 40-45 in all kinds of theaters of operations. Think about all the use it would get both in scenario and MA play, in particular if you had the 'torps'
Coastal Command at work :)
-
A 340mph sea level twin engine monster with more firepower than most anything in the game.
Sure, but perk the snot out of it.

Must be an axis aircraft flyer :)
If you perk a 1940 bird, we're in trouble

I posted this plane many times in fact tried a bribe to hitech with no responce only a few days ago. Yes it would be a great addition to the game to see my home town made plane included. Interestingly enough, I recall reading about when they first unveiled the Beau. Some pilots went inside her and were timing with a stopwatch how long it took to reload the guns. The 20mm Hispanos were all drum-fed with 60-round drums (like the Spitfire V). After a combat, the pilot would keep flying and the "powder monkey" (as the guys testing it were griping) would have to reload based on drums stored on racks. They were heavy, and any kind of sudden movement was feared as it might chop the fingers of the guy loading, at the bottom of the drum.
I wonder if HTC could program in reload times like that. Fire "N" rounds, wait X seconds before allowing "N" more rounds to fire.
How many reload drums did the Beau have? 4 guns, at least 1 reload, that's 8 drums... Probably 2? 12 drums total? That's a lot to cram in a small space, not counting the guy moving them around!

1940?
"The first Mk 21 flew on 26 May 1944 and 364 were completed between then and the end of 1945."
Im talking about the one people would push for the most.
Not the useless 40's version of it.
Look around, people don't want old busted rigs, they want ubber versions of old busted rigg's. a plane that could go 320+mph on the deck with a torp or bomb slung under it, with x4 20mm and x4 .50's
While im not against it, the adding of any new airplane, please dont try to make it sound like your just pushing for some 1940's clunker.
And granted i have flown the a20G MOSTLY during this tour, i can say i know the damage a heavy bird can do.
If its about the firepower, make the x2 .50 x4 20mm version of the A20G the russians used.

And perk it?
-
What about the B-25 with several times the firepower of the A20? Perk it too?
-
Keep in mind, Karma, the 1940 version wasn't too much different from the mk.21 -- the main difference being engine power. The Mk.21 is about equal to the brit-built Mk.X I believe, only the RAF used 6x .303s instead of 4x .50cal. It had 4x20s still, even at the beginning.

That's what I was getting at hub. No reason to perk the Beu the a20 or the 25.
340 mph in the LWAs is squat.
-
Cool kursty, i did not know that.
And if they had the x4 20mm cannon version of the A20G then yes, i would perk it. I would also perk every other heavy bomber just so people would fly and use other bombers more in the *late arenas*.
I dont mind perks, any time you up and shoot down two fighters, or bomb a few gv's you get them back regardless.
We have to suicide a 234 right now, if i want to loose bomber perks.
Kinda makes the system useless .
Would you fella's mind at all if heavy bomber's had a Light perk, or even 3-5 pts just so we have SOMETHING worth spending them on?
What i dont understand is how a 234 could be perked so highly, and some late ubber heavy bombers, that can take down bases, cv's and such in 1 pass, have no perks whatsoever.
Okay the 234's fast, we get it.
but take a b17 out, without bombs, fly it around like a flying fire base, and see if you dont land with 10-15 perks every time.
And a bomber.. the lanc, with the largest bomb load in the game, has no perks.
And when i say heavy bomber, i speak of (4 engines)
:Edit: perk the b25H? I guess if you realy wanted to you could go for it, honestly a plane thats so slow and cumbersom as to get shot down by a tanks main gun, i cant say i would perk it, but hey, thats just me.
You may wanna look into paying people to fly that abortion.
(dont try to use the logic that other bomber's get shot down by a tanks main gun too, i know they do.)
I was speaking more in terms of guns, ords, how the plane handles and how well the engines work for its airframe. The A20g is a pig when it comes to getting to 300mph+, the b25 will never brake 280mph flying level.

It is 'uber' and i am not some idiot after some 1945 'uber' aircraft.
Firstly, you want to learn to read properly, i stated why i wanted the Mk 21 in my original post.

I have made it bold to make it a little easier for you, but here, i will expand on the above anyway:-
It would give the Australians an aircraft which they built, and i think that the standard Beaufighter with the 6 x .303's and 4 x 20mm is too similar to the Mossie to make it worth adding.
For variation in gameplay therefore i think the Mk 21 is the best.
Secondly, the Mk. 21 was pretty much a license built Beaufighter Mk X 'Torpbeau' which came into service ~ 1943 and was the most produced of all the Beaufighters. It is fast for its size low down because its engines were rated to be fast low down. It would be useless at any alt. It would be a great low level strike aircraft and anti shipping aircraft.
Between the early and late variants of the Beaufighter there was not a massive increase in speed, the main changes went to equipment and armament. It probably gained 20mph or so on top speed throughout its development.

You know you only posted this to have me agree with emphatically yet again!
:aok :D

Mmm somthing else I can get shot down in. It would be different. And kool. :aok

:aok :aok :aok :aok :aok Nice bit'o'kit. :D

i'd love to fly this one in the air :aok

:aok I like the beaufighter(http://www.compass.dircon.co.uk/beaufighter_tfx.jpg) :aok
-
nice, but AFTER the HE-111
-
Or add it at the same time as the He-111... need to shoot those 20mm and 50cals into something! the glass nose of the 111 would make a nice target.

Been wishing for a Beaufighter for some time now.
