Is this a viable new perk plane? It seems like it is the F6F on steroids.
-
I believe it never saw combat in WW2, but would be a fun AH2 Convention plane. :aok
-
The Bearcat would be a cool addition, along with the SeaFurry, but sadly it didn't make it in time.
There is a guy down the street from me that has a SeaFurry. Way cool airplane! Last I heard he has an itch to buy a Bearcat.

Is that even a real airplane?

F8F is a viable plane to be added to AH at some point . it was a WW2 production plane in squad level service before end of war. it was onboard USS Langley at end of war going japan. the only difference between 152 and F8F, was 152 just had to takeoff to see enemy planes, the F8F had to travel 4k miles to the front.

hehe
SearFury would make the Tempest look like a turtle
F8F would make spit16 look like overloaded p47

I understand that HITECH has always a lot on the table but I hope we can see this plane in the future, especially with the positive responses thus far on this thread.:aok

Don't think it got a kill during the war.
I believe that is part of the criteria for being added.

Unless it was heavily perked you would see nothing but Bearcats in the MA.

I will be expecting it on the next update!!! If it doesn't get added I will post one of these:cry
Seriously though, I would love to see the Bearcat, but I doubt it will ever see the cartoon skies of AH.:furious

I would like to see it and the F7F Tigercat too. Its not likely but it would be fun.

Played with the f8f in a few games i have.
Its a nice plane to dominate in,thats for sure.
The version i fly, has a full 3d cockpit, with a ful 3d pilot inside, when you use the stick or controls, the pilots body moves, same with using rudders, very cool effect.
Maby someday, ill show HTC a few pictures of it, realy makes the plane feal more alive.

There, now you can see the quality of this guys work, i look around online and im blown away with how HTC would not at least get a few more modellers to help work with them.
With most of these guys who do it for fun, im sure being paid or at least having there work used in a video game would be a great honor.
"Shrugs"
But check out the one where you can see the cockpit, and pilot inside.
One helluva modeller.
:Edit: Btw that He-162 is one bad mutah.

Well, the F8F-1 was in squadron service before the war ended. On the other hand, the Sea Fury was still only a prototype. I don't believe that the Seafury was accepted for carrier service until 1947.

I think this would be a great Perk bird. I dont see any problem with it. If it's performance is so far above what is available then access can be restricted just like the 163 and the 262 are as well as a hefty perk cost.
Unless they were in game unperked, which I cant believe would happen, they will not be flown by everybody. That argument just doesnt hold water. I dont care how many perk points you have. There a scores of players with thousands of unspent fighter perk points and I dont see them all flying a 262 all the time as some have stated would be the case. If that was a valid argument then why do we only see a 262 occassionally??
I also think that if the tables of WWII had been turned and the Air Forces of the Axis were flying the skys of the US that this bird would have seen extensive combat. However since Operation Olympic never occurred (Thank God) it never saw service.
It's performance characteristics and weapons systems are well below the 262 so it would not be the "Top Bird" if it were to be added to the inventory.
So yes I for one think this is a viable candidate for inclusion to AH.
Just my thoughts on the subject.

I would propose the starting perk points assuming login parity at between 25-40 points because of its performance capabiliti
