Title: Fw190 ext fuel/bomb rack weighs nothing
Post by: Anaxogoras on March 05, 2008, 03:15:38 AM
Test it for yourself offline.  Has this been noticed before?

The external fuel/bomb racks on the 109 series weigh about 50lbs, for the sake of comparison.

Another odd thing was that rocket rails on the P-51D weigh nothing.  I'm not going to invest hours of my time into investigating further, but I know some of you will.;)

It has been noticed. They didn't know how much to make it weigh. When I brought it up they joked "we can make it weigh 500lbs if you like!"

I'd pay the penalty in weight if they would have it fix the CoG issues of the aux tank!!

If anybody has any sources that list the weight of the ETC rack, please let us know!

51's rocket rails are a permanent addition to the plane after the B model I believe, much like the 47's bomb racks.

Could be that the racks on the Fw190 series is always factored in, thus no weight gain/loss.

Certainly if you carry ord or a DT there is extra weight.

Seems like a very small issue.

May not weigh anything, but it slows plane down as much as 9 knots
