We all know the arena split has solved some serious gameplay issues and created some increase frustration. One of those frustrations is being unable to instantly fly with your squad mates. So often I find myself waiting for the specific arena to have a slot available. Once I see that the arena numbers, find there are slots open I click on the arena and get this "arena is full" message. Now I know someone else got in, someone likely waiting less time, and someone that probly clicked the button every second. I know HTC wants to equalize the two LW arenas and thats understandable. I also know people are going to wait to get in the full arena.
My wish........arena waiting list. Something simple like "You have 10 people ahead of you" That way I dont have people telling me (or vice versa) that they got in 5 minutes ago when I have been trying for 15 minutes.

Strip it doesn't work that way. When you log into the server, you get the arena list with current number of players. There is no waiting list. It is the luck of the draw for the instant that your pc requested the server info.
If you log in and get Blue - 281/280 and in the following 2 seconds 2 players disconnect from blue, and then I and 2 other people login...
We will see Blue - 279/280 and all 3 of us will be able to get into Blue arena.
So say all 3 of us go into blue...Then next person that requests info for the arenas will see 282/280.
If you really want in a full arena, you need to keep refreshing the arena list until you're lucky enough hit it when there is an open slot. Either by logging in and out of the server, or by jumping in and out of another arena.

Maybe they could "encode" a "revolving door" that opens when 5 people are in the queue for a specific time. Then it opens and allows only those 5 in and adjusts the arena accordingly.
If one arena is full and another is not, then their plan is working. The ability to program an arena to resize itself based on the "gate or gatekeeper" on the fly would be cool. Unfortunately, logging in is very impersonal...it doesn't sort you by squad or country.
The split arenas were setup for the large uber squads that often overwhelmed sides and took unfair advantage of their numbers. Of course, we also have ENY to help there as well. Let's face it though, a number of us belong to a squad and came from a game that encouraged them and the comraderie.
We Cutthroats have been around since 1996 in Air Warrior and Aces High since 1999.
AH is penalizing them, IMO. This is what we have to work/play with now.

What you said cannot happen. It is "full" or has a slot open based on the last time you pinged the server for the arena list. If you get an arena list that shows slots open, you are able to get into that arena no matter how many other people have entered it ahead of you, nor how long you wait to click in.

I think what he is looking to see is, as you are sitting in the "Oclub" instead of popping in and out trying to hit that screen that shows you an open slot, he'd like to see his name on a waiting list, and as people log out of the arena those at the top of the list automatically move into the arena moving the next name up.

even just a refresh button (instead of having to pop in and out of map or loggin) would be helpful I think.

Snowey, we already have titanic tuesday, and so far, I can not say that I find it all that much fun. I do like having two maps to choose from though. As for the waiting list, the idea is great and I believe the refresh button is the answer, my .02
