Title: annoying buzzing sound

every time i shoot an hit an object or ack hits near me i get a loud buzzing sound.  changed speakers, not the problem.  need help.  cant fly with sound up because of this.

system info:  gigabyte s-series mother board
amd duel core
2 mgs ram
e-geforce 8600 gt
windows xp


dunno what other info needed.

every thing else working great.  just this annoying buzzing sound as listed above.

Are you using any custom sounds?  Have you tried trading out the sounds (if custom) with a different or the default set?

no.  all sounds are original ah2 sounds.  deleted game and reinstalled but still same problem  :(

post a dxdiag report, maybe you have a conflict in your sound.

ok,  went into dxdiag, moved hardware sound acceleration level to basic.  then turned master voulme to half.  problem seems fixed.

Dad...if you have surround sound (4 speakers) you may find you no longer get sound from the rear speakers.

neg on surround.  just 2 speakers and a woofer.  that terrible buzzing sound is gone.  i'm happy  :)
