Title: SKIN: Spitfire Mk Vb, 601 RAF
Post by: jocko- on March 06, 2008, 05:27:52 PM
First out the door is EP689, coded UF-X, flown by S/L Stanislaw Skalski, OC No. 601 Sqn, RAF, July 1943.

Desert scheme of Dark Earth and Mid Stone with Azure Blue undersurfaces.  Spinner in Red.  Codes in Night with White outline.

Not enough (any?) Desert Air Force skins in this game...

Jocko, first off, very nice job.  But sad to say that we've got the Spit 9 from the 145 RAF Squadron or better known as the Polish Fighting Team.  The skin was done by Greebo and added last year.

Jocko may be stuck somewhere where it's warm right now. Big winter storm over Pearson Internation and he may not be able to RTB  :uhoh  :)

Well, I wasn't stranded per se but sitting at The Flying Beaver drinking Big bellybutton beers and watching the float planes buzzing around was better then spending the weekend at home in Ontario shoveling the driveway.  :D  <edit> Geez poog, I should have called you!!!  Next time.

Apologies to Greebo, I hadn't noticed 'til now that there are a few DAF/Tropical paint schemes available.

Biggles, Most of my reference material focuses on RAF/RCAF Spits, if you have some photos/profiles gimmie a PM and I'll certainly give it a try.  I'll probably make a Mk IX template next which should be good for some late war Canadian schemes, lotsa nose art and so forth (much to the chagrin of senior RAF staff officers  :devil).
