Hello gents,
I'll be soon far from house with a laptop and more free time than actually
I'll need to bring a cheap joystick as a substitute for my full ch setup :D
I've heard so much horror stories about the logitech I'm sure I don't want one and as microsoft is out of the market what model at about 50$ should I choose ?
-
My "spare" or substitute stick is a saitek evo force. I'll never accept anything less than my CH stuff but thats probably the best cheap all round stick that won't break straight away.

Saitek Avi8tor
dual throttle and a WWII like look, with the same features than the EVO

Good move staying away from the logicrap.
I had one for a while, and to it's credit it was still functioning when I upgraded to the X52. It was a nasty stick though, I do remember a time when they were actually quite nice but that was 13 years ago.

Your best bet is the Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro 2. Nope, they're not manufactured anymore :cry but chances are you can find one on Ebay for less than $30. It's a VERY smooth and reliable twisty stick.

sorry I'll be using french to talk to straffo as I'm too drunk to traduce in english :D

ST290Pro is around $20
AV8R is $40

Max nailed it.
MS Sidewinder Prec Pro's and Sidewinder Prec 2 USB's sell for around 30$ on ebay.
If I was to go to a stick other than sidewinder it would be the Saitek Aviator for around 40$ (have seen specials where they go for quite a bit less)
