Title: There's a war on and Allied command needs you ...
Post by: Arlo on March 08, 2008, 09:23:13 AM
*(As posted in the general forum)
.. in the AvA arena today (and tonight ... and the next .. and so on). Axis forces are practically unopposed. Of course they like it that way. Don't let the hob-nailed boot of oppression stamp out the lamp of freedom of democracy! Don't let Tojo, Hitler, Mussolini and an all-star notorious cast of others take the virtual free world! Let's pop Japan!

*Organizational and cooperative skills optional. All that's needed to win a war is bodies, men. Lots and lots of bodies.

As it feels the following is deja vu all over again: Now quit posting Axis propaganda in an Allied recruiting thread or I shall have to shoot you where it hurts the most. Your ego. :D

Both of you seem lost. This is an Allied recruiting thread. But I guess that's what happens when Axis planes are overbooked. Gotta go try to stand in front of everyone else's gate. :D

*ShruG* If you like this thread, you can have it. I'll gladly create a fresh Allied recruiting thread. But you'd think anyone truly confident of their "skill" in the AvA (individually or part of a larger group) wouldn't feel so threatened about them that they felt compelled to sabotage them by making JG54/77 chicken tracks all over them the moment one was posted. It's almost as if the JG recruiting corps thought it was part of the duties of a JG recruiter. I hate to break it to you but recruiting for your cause doesn't involve doing your best to inhibit opponents from recruiting for theirs. Besides, doesn't that seem to contradict claimed JG54/JG77 promotion of the AvA? I'm sorry if that just confused you. I hope the simplified version doesn't:

JG54/77 is not the AvA. The AvA is not JG54/77. :D

Now don't get me wrong. I certainly hope the Axis devotees stick around. I even hope they retain their number if not grow more. But show some intestinal fortitude and don't let Allied recruitment efforts wet your leather.  :aok

The JG squads don't need to recruit Arlo, they are knocking our door down to learn the ways of the darkside... they know we have cooookies!  :D

Let's be careful what we ask for. I want the allies to recruit good players not just huge numbers of dweeblets. I can truly enjoy being bested by a good opponent. I'm not sure if being ganged by 20 nooblets offers the same experience.

Speaking from experience ... it's different, yeah. The war's the important thing, though, eh? :D

I noticed that a lot in Allied oriented threads...  They're like roaches that are immune to light.

Just more *me, Me, ME!* attention grabs from the LW whinee side of the game.

Honestly, the Axis attitude in the AvA is very successful in killing any interest I have in even taking a look at these "war" setups.

They seem to be extremely hostile and intent on belittling the oposition rather than fostering a good gamemanship environment.

Wanna douse it? There's a way. I just hope at the end of that road there's still some Axis opposition willing to log onto AvA. :)

Meh.  No real point.

It's the few that ruin it for the many.

The VanScrew that ruins it for the guys like Republic.

I'm out.

Don't let that bother you Karnak.  They do it all the time.  I kind of miss the attention that I was getting... sniff..sniff.

I think the axis banter is great for the game. Nothing better that a little ribbing to prompt a sucessfull comback. If the allieds dominate the areana, I for one will still be working my butt off trying to regain our current advantage. I enjoy the AvA because it is the areana that we have squad unity.

It isn't banter.  It is childish insults combined with a superiority complex.  And one that doesn't know when it has pushed into very bad taste, as it has in every attempt I've see of the Allies to put up some sort of cohensive defense.  It is an attitude that excuses all the gamey stuff the Axis pulls to get on top and then whines if the Allies do anything that is generally seen as dishonorable in AH.

Basically it is the worst traits of the MA and AvA all rolled into one, MA gameyness, MA channel 200 insults and AvA elitism.

Oh here's an idea... don't tune in 200. It was good to see Urchin in last night, some great flying is exactly what the allies need.

I can understand Karnak's position.  There are several players in AvA who would appear to suffer from a bipolar personality disorder.  Regardless of the outcome of a fight, there will be a torrent of abuse from several players.  It would be tolerable if it contained the wit ch1 had several years ago, but is the same dull, stale rhetoric day in day out.

Come on Guys, like the Nike advertisement says, "just do it!!!".  Join up with Arlo and company in the AVA. its a great time. Lots of fun and excitement and you get to work with your fellow pilots.

dont worry about what karnak, thrila and urchin, have to say, they were abused children!! just go into AVA and find out for yourself. If you listen to someone else, you may never know what you missed.

You have me and everyone in my squad for Allies.  Have a preference for German fighters, but I hate bad sportsmen and always bet on the underdog.  I'm in.
