I don't know what's going on here ? But I registered 3-08-08 to FSO. Was this not you cut off date?
Then 3-09-08 should be the locked date - Right?.
And still was unable to get into the FSO. And we are a new squad. / group.
And AH did not post anything until 4 days from the FSO starts.
Plus AH BB's where down also for a night.
The 79th Fighter Group would like to join in on this FSO in March.
What's up ghostdancer? - Did you not recieve my PM?.

I signed the 79th Fighter Group up Sat. Evening. And I PM you about possibly see if you could squeeze us in. We have a total of 9 able pilots. And we want to fly with our group / Squadron. Sorry if I was a little late. But we are new to the FSO. And we would like to give it a go. I had to work this weekend training Air National Guard - traditionals. So registering this Saturday evening was my only option. One-way or another please notify me.

If the Admin CM's could see a way to let the 79th fighter group fly as a squad we would REALLY appreciate it. As we are reading the numbers, the axis side is short what our commitment numbers are, so it would ballance out the sides. We are more than willing to fly axis if you want to swap out squads to allied, what ever it takes. Gghost has been working very hard to make sure that the people we have commited to FSO will be there and represent us well. It would be disappointing to split the group up amungst the short squads, but I guess if thats what it takes..............I would have one bit of advice for the future, please post a firm time and date of cut-off, besides "as soon as possable" or "we are setting up side assignments on day XX at an unknown time", as it cuts down on conflicts like this one. The official cut off date to register was Saturday the 8th. But waiting till then is not a good idea.
I will wait and see what GD has to say. If he has room for you on the axis side, it is his call. I wish I had had some sort of contact with you before the 7th.
Fortunately you registration looks good and is ready on the AH Events site.
I will have GD look at this thread, we will let you know.

As for time? I really don't want to do that. If we tell people 3pm ET on the 4th, then sure enough, someone is going to be wanting to register at 2:58pm ET on the 4th. But advice listened to and accepted. :)
Now some advice of my own. (no I am not trying to be a smart prettythang, or rude)
Please don't wait till the list day (or minute) to register. That would also cut down on conflicts like this one.
I know that sounds like I am being a "jerk" it is not meant to. I am just trying to give a constructive comment, as you did.

Axis are not short on numbers. As it stands Axis have a 177 - 245 spread.
This was brought to my attention by Sled yesterday (he is in Alaska I am in Florida .. so I was sleeping while he was doing whatever Alaskans do while the rest of us sleep).
Side assignments were already decided and published on Friday on the Board. Do to technical difficulties I was having they were not set in the AH Events site until Saturday the 8th. Objectives went out Sunday the 9th.
So right now it is to late to get your squad involved in Frame 1. Barring an unforeseen circumstance such as a squad at the last minute not being able to participate in the event.
I can work you into frame 2. As for what side I can't say until after frame 1 where I can see how the actual turnout is for each side and how the fighting goes. So there is a chance of either Axis or Allies for frame 2 for you guys.

This is exactly why you give a solid cut-off, it the guy makes it by 30 seconds he's in, 30 seconds past he's out. I have been putting on motorcycle events for 10years and a solid cut-off time is a must have.

The standard practice is the Admin CM (me not Sled in this case) to post side assignments on Friday one week before the event (the 7th in this case). Believe, me I got several emails and phone calls on Friday saying are you done yet? It needs to be up today. Then more on Saturday saying it is just up on the BBS, needs to be the event site to. Oh, you are having issues with the events okay I will post it for you.
As for the thread you are quoting .. I never set the date as 3/8 and had no idea somebody else posted such. Sorry, my operating date was 3/7 to have the side assignments up.
I understand you are passionate and really wanting in. Just signing up at the last minute is always tough. I wasn't even aware of this situation until last night. Putting together an even, side assignments and balancing is not something that you really can do last minute. It is not like a motorcyle event in that regards. I have to look at participation history, CiC history, go over actual participation numbers (and send notes to squads that need to adjust up or down based on past participation ... say a squad has put in for 7-10 but really has been turning out low and should be in the 4-6 category), and several other things I can go into.
As I said I can work you guys into frame 2. I just can't work you into frame 1 right now. Objectives are already out and I need to see how numbers are actually going to play out.
As for a Solid cut off date .. I will talk to the other CMs and recommend that it basically should be the day before side assignments are announced. Side assignments should be announced on the Friday before the 1st Frame of the event. So that would make the cutoff (in the future) 8 days before the first frame. Side Assignment 7 days before the first frame. This gives the admin CM a full day to work things out and post sides that night.

Of course you can get into frame 2.
I just don't know what side yet, until frame 1 is done. If the Japanese have massive numbers then probably allied. If the allied have massive numbers then probably Japanese.

Thank you Ghostdancer, the side doesn't matter either one will be fine. I have posted for walk-ons for frame 1, so we can at least get into an open spot somewhere.

Thanks, Ghostdancer ... I was not sure if you needed a solid list of names to post on AH - SEA and I wanted to make sure that, our list was a good list at the 79th FG.
Therefore, I was waving between 2 different commitment levels. In addition, I also PM forHim on the Friday 03-07-08 about joining up. If I knew, I needed to do this right then on Friday. I would have just registered that vary minute and took a good shot at the numbers. Nevertheless, I did not know the cut off day so I looked at the bulletin boards.
Therefore, I moved up there 79th FG cut off time by a day. Then I made some phone calls. To make sure we would have the pilots for the commitment level. I did not want to start out on the wrong foot with the level of pilots coming to FSO. In addition, I did not want have too many pilots either and panelize our side - either Allies or Axis.
I do know what a cut off time and date is to me. I work on military and civilian aircrafts. We always have cut off times & dates. To me it is second nature to make the deadline. So if someone listed a time frame. Then that time or date is like: "Solid Piece of Iron"

Just remember GGhost, that if you are ever over your commitment numbers, to send your over flow to a squad that has spots available, never take off with no more then 2 pilots over your commitment numbers, your allowed to be 2 under or 2 over, but no more.

you will be flying Axis for frames 2 and frames 3.
Your commitment for numbers is 7-10, you are allowed as little as 5, and as many as 12.
Welcome to FSO, you will receive your orders from the CiC later this week.
