Title: Local killshooter polling option
Post by: bcadoo on March 10, 2008, 09:37:58 AM
Was on a mission the other day with about 25 planes.  One 'friendly' players behavior was such that it was detrimental to the success of the mission, even though he recieved repeated calls on the radio that his actions were not in line.

I would like to see a check box next to each players name in the range channel box.  If more than 60 percent of the people in the range channel check it then kill shooter is turned off for that player.  The check would expire after 5 minutes.  That should allow enough time for somebody to be fragged and get on with gameplay.

Note:  The 'friendly' later swapped teams and upped as a flak at the base we were attacking....

Sounds great, but sounds as if either way you would lose.

If you upped the mission and noticed in-flight that he was acting up, chances are you already told him where you're headed. If you shoot him down using this new option most likely he will want revenge by switching sides and yelling, "BOMBER HORDE ON THE WAY AT COORDINATES ##,##. OVER ## BOMBERS!!!!"

Sure it would be nice, however there is a downside either way.

So If I happen to fly close to a "friendly" squadron who's CO just can't stand me, I'm suddenly fair game for everyone?

NO, I like killshooter as it is, it's funny watching n00bs line up on your 6 only to have something nasty happen to their plane.
I looove the first lesson in killshooter :rofl

Dude that happens so much to the Bishies. And it's always someone who we wouldnt expect it from. When the AArch AAngelz were Bishop, AAolds and his little group joined our ROLLINGTHUNDER mission and we thought it was going to be a bust. It was great and we took it suprisingly quicker. In another mission, they all joined, it was  a bust so we asked them not to be in the next "mission" to see what would happen. Turned out some guy who is a rook now was spying on our missions.
And as I recall, we had 1 of the respected bishies who everyone likes switch teams on us for free kills.

lol if a mission fails why would you tell some people not to join the next one? wouldnt you want to try to get more people in the next one not fewer?just confused.

We asked them not to join. it wasnt really a mission, just a little fighter sweep with a goon not even going to the base. It was when the AAs had just joined bishies and we were cautious. But yea, the guy wasnt in a squad and we advertised it and asked the ppl in squads to withdraw and that guy turned out was the spy...
Is spying considered cheating?? I really think that spying is low....

Sorry.  A big no on this.  I could just see a group of guys handing it to somebody because they have enough numbers to do so.
