That would be a video card driver issue.

Make sure you've changed your Aces High display resolution to use the new layout (i.e. 1024x1280 instead of 1280x1024)

It looks like AH is trying to run in a 3:4 ratio window inside your portrait view. I would double check the text inside the "video8.cfg" file in your settings folder. You may have to manually enter the resolution. Set it to your native resolution on the monitor and see if that works.
Then again, video cards don't always support all resolutions, and I've never tried this myself. I have a monitor that does this (pivots). I'll give it a try tonight and see if I can get mine working.
Will let you know what I find.

I get the same errors every time, as well. I can't even find the video8.cfg file to edit it (I think on crashing, it cleared this file so that the next time it would ask you for settings -- but it doesn't get that far)
-
The "video8.cfg" file only gets created once DirectX is successfully initialized. The crash is occuring before DirectX gets initialized.

thx for the help, i figured it out. had to edit resolution in the video8.cfg file. <S> :salute

Best place for drivers is guru3d.com You'll need the forceware ones.
