can anyone tell me wether or not this type of monitor would be compatible with AH or would there be no noticeable difference from a standard LCD display??

It should work fine, AH supports 3D on the nvidia cards (I use it with my visor), if you really want to be sure check the forums at www.mtbs3d.com . You'll find users of the monitor there and lots of other ifo.

So you need an nVidia card for it to work? or can it work independant of type/capability of the video card?? If its true stereoscopic video, then it would have to be built into the card, wouldn't it?

Nah I believe they have their own custom drivers.
All modern ATI and Nvidia cards can do true stereoscopic. Nvidia have their own drivers, ATI is a bit of a mess though. Stereo's been a little known feature but with the moves in the movie industry and improvements in technology such as these monitors it's really starting to gain momentum.
If you play a game like Oblivion for example on a 3d stereo setup you'd sh** your pants over how different it looks. Brickwork that looks raised, depth to the engravings on armour. In AH when you pulled inverted to do a low level split-S in a hawg and look up at the ground coming towards you the feeling is just awesome. Our in AH FSO's when you hurtle through formations of B17s it's just wow material.
