I'll most likely wear it anyways -- but do you all think wearing something advertising the Israeli Air Force would be considered offensive to some? It has a drawing of a Mirage III on it with a caption of "Israeli Air Force, defending the homeland for 60 years." I'm neither Jewish or do I have some kind of agends with it, I'm just a military aircraft nut and have a lot of respect for the IAF and its combat record. Some friends and family think its a bit aggressive. Thoughts?

I think the only ones that would be offended would be the Islamic terrorists. Nothing wrong with wearing.
HOWEVER, I would strongly discourage you from doing so if your going to the Palestinian territory. :lol
-
Lol, nah I'll leave the shirt at home if I head to Palestine. Only reason I ask this is that the above mentioned people had such a reaction to the shirt. Made me think maybe I was off the mark in my thinking. I am a high school teacher and would love to wear it on casual Friday, but thinking it is too political for that.
Mirage III is a sexah plane though however ya look at it. Maybe I'll have to get a Mig-21 shirt to counterbalance it.
-
Wear the damn shirt and let em whine.
Hell if it were me I'd wear the shirt just to hear em whine
-
Wear the shirt. The IAF is considered by some to be the best Air Force out there.
-
Nothing wrong with that shirt, and yes the mirage III is super sexy!
I think the Mirage III/V is the best looking jet ever made.
-
After the US shot down 2 Libyan SU-22s in 1981 I used to wear a shirt that said:
USA 2
Libya 0
-
Just as offensive as wearing HAMAS or PLO T-shirts... if it's a problem for someone it's their problems; not yours.
-
I was wearing a shirt I got at an airshow one time in a bar.It was a sweet looking 109 and some guy came up to me and said."Yea bro..I WITH ya on that.Heil Hitler" Some people just got no sense. :rofl
-

Yeah, I'm with ya on that sentiment Dred. All of you guys posts for that matter. The shirt will be worn for sure, but dunno about at work -- too bad because it would be a good conversation starter with students. We cannot have any overt political influence on the kids (nor should we) and some of the Muslim kids may have a bad feelings about seeing a teacher wearing the shirt with a warplane and the Israeli flag.

I dont think its in the same vein as that.
Where did you get the shirt anyway?
-

When it comes to politics or religion (or things on the periphery of that) people get there panties in a wad rather easily.

Yes, a burning Mig 21 would be most suitable to go with the Mirage :)

I think it means he likes you.
-
Awww, very cute but he didn't have to deface a public sign just to let me know.
-
I wouldn't say it was in the least bit offensive.
But it is just a little a trite and more than a little gay. It's like those sad idiots who wear camo trousers from Army surplus stores or 'Marines' T-shirts. Especially when they aren't even American. Or in the Marines for that matter.
Bent.

As long as you are not a student wearing it to school, you would be fine. Otherwise, you would find yourself expelled.
I got arrested in Berkeley, California, for wearing this T-Shirt:

You were arrested for that? Oh my god, what a travesty! I hope you sued them!

Wow, people do that? I mean wear Marine shirts and they are not even American? That seems odd.
I'd wear a shirt that had the Brit flag printed on it though, just because it looks cool to me.

Not honoring diversity, of course. :lol :lol :lol :lol

Yup, they do. It is rather sad - saw it quite recently actually. And I'm sure I've seen a TV presenter over here wearing one.
Kind of like wearing a Beefeater tunic if you were from Austin, Texas.
A flag is a flag - I wouldn't say using that was daft.
-
Nevermind, wasn't even worth a response.
-
i dont find it offensive, my favorite t that i where is
"Welcome to America...
Now speak english"
and i really dont care who it offends.
-
Yeah, I don't really care who it offends either, I was just shocked at some peoples reactions being so strong.
-
I made this shirt from The Simpsons for my sister for her trip to Egypt a few years ago. For some reason, she decided not to wear it. I made one for myself that I used to enjoy wearing around LA.

Anyways, got my answer. Admittedly a skewed one on a BBS for a military video game but... Most are with me thinking it is not offensive and a couple guys think its ghey/gay.
-
it will likely only be offensive to people I have no qualms about offending.
as good as no, as far as i'm concerned.

Yep. Co-worker is wearing "Orange County Choppers" shirts and he doesn't even own any kind of bike. That sure is gay and I did let him know about it.

So you think I should be a pilot in the IAF or fly a Mirage III in order to wear a t-shirt? You guys are pretty damn judgemental, why so critical of others for something so trivial?
-
I think he was being sarcastic about the harshness of the quoted post, not relating to you.
-
Anyone who gets offended probably deserves it :D
wear it!

There's a little difference between wearing a poster T-shirt like that IAF/Mirage (I don't have problems with that, I'd wear it too) or wearing a poser shirt like that OCC's (I wouldn't wear even if I do ride a Dyna, however it doesn't have anything from OCC) or Marines (not a Marine here).
-
Hey Ely, long time :)
-
I had a t-shirt that had an afghan flag on it the the letters T.W.A.T underneath.
It was given to me by the brit det at thumrait , T.W.A.T being The War Against Terror my boss got upst by it so had to stop wearing it :(

Ah, gotcha. Yeah that OCC stuff is a bit poser-ish, like the person wearing it is trying to broadcast to the world "I am a tough guy" or something. Only seen my junior high school students wearing it TBH.
-
Oh and hey Moot! Good to see you are still around man!
-
I get a remark every now and then when I wear my Confederate do-rag while riding my bike. They say "people will think your a racist". I tell them no I'm just a proud Southerner. Theres a difference.
Of course they will sometimes say it represents slavery, but if thats true then I guess the same can be said for Old Glory as well since it was around before the Civil War.
People will find a reason to be offended about anything only because they want to be offended.
Live and let live.

Should have had an arrow pointing to your head -@@-
How's it going? long time no see.

There was a cool shirt I thought about getting. on onside was an Israeli soldier with an M-16in front of a woman and child shielding them.
On the other was an Islamic guy cowering with an AK pointing at the israelis from behind a woman in a burkha and a kid.
