I'm really new to aces high but I've been practicing alot, but when I'm practicing in the offline arena's and i get close to a plane within about 200, the plane kind of freezes up and i cant control it at all. it happens alot when i get close to another plane but sometimes it happens out of no where. it seems like everything else around me is fine but my controls are slowed up alot! and after awhile it will kind of snap out of it and it will be cool. but its driving me crazy cas i cant shoot anything down.

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than me will come along sooner or later, but I think the first question would be to post your system specs, and what graphic settings your running in game. At close range the game adds detail to the objects including whatever skin they are using. If it's offline I dunno if the skin is the culprit here. So post your specs and like I said I'm sure someone can come along that can be more helpful than I.

Are you getting little text messages that say "Do not move your controls so rapidly" ?
-
sounds like a frame rate issue with your computer.
but hard to tell without specs of your comp and graphic card.
so asuming you have win xp
go to start menu
click
run
type in
DIXDIAOG
hit run
post results here in forum might also want to go to system info and post that information

if its perfrormance related turn your eye candy down
try at 1200x780 resolution 256 texture size and turn off any anti aliasing or super sampling on your vid card drivers.
when i first started i was on an internal vid card. was playing at bare min settings and still sucked

from the sounds of it he gets close and frezzzzzzzzzzz sounds like he is shooting his guns and his rig frezzzzzzzzzzes. i would say try the ctrl and the F3 key at the same time this is short vis range helps on the graphics

You might want to turn down your sound acceleration to 75% or even 50% in DxDiag.

Well i thought i had figured out what the problem was i recalibrated my controller from the control panel and it worked better for a little while but then it just came back again. the message "dont move controls so rapidly" was gone for a bit but then it comes back after a while. its like when i recalibrate its fine for a bit but then just gets screwed up again. Im thinkin it might have somethin to do with the system requirments but i really dont know anything about that. i turned down the resolution but i have a real cheap controller, could that be the problem?

If you're getting "don't move your controls so rapidly" it's an issue with your stick.
Calibrate it in windows first. In the calibration window make sure it moves smoothly, and doesn't jitter and jump without your input. Then calibrate in-game.
What stick are you using? Logitech, by any chance?
