Title: Film Viewer/recording to AVI
Post by: LePaul on March 17, 2008, 12:19:26 PM
This seems to crash constantly on me now.

Once I select "640 x 480" and select "No compression"...I get the windowed version of the recording, then it bombs.

Repeatedly. Over and over again.

I'm taking a 45 second clip I cut out of a larger film.

I have everything else off on the PC, maximizing free memory.

I wind up with an 86mb file of nothingness.

Thanks

Can you e-mail me the film you are trying to convert?  Also, if you are converting only a segment of the film, the start and stopping times you used.

Thanks,

I can do that.  Any particular email addy?

Also, I am noticing that the AVI it finally did create bombs Windows Media Player.  My Sonic Foundry VideoFactory program can open the AVI fine.  But Windows Media Player 11 blows up with a "quartz.dll" error.

I did a search of this and see some threads suggesting...

1) Re-install WMP
2) Check Video driver

Did both.  I noticed I did have an older nVidia driver in there.

Still blowing up on only that file.  Others open fine.

So I am not convinced this is a HTC problem (unless the film shows you something)...but perhaps something in the AVI creating process of Windows XP
