I could use a good blender but $399? Anyone own one of these? Are they worth the price?

My wife wanted one of these and I bought it for her a few months ago. It was at a small discount, I think around $350 at the time, online.
It's the exact same blender they use at all the Starbucks shops. It is very powerful ( 3 hp ) and doesn't bog down with anything we've fed it....although I haven't tried Bic lighters, rake handles, marbles or cell phones yet. :D

The overall quality is very good, and I like the large blades and the square shaped container. If you need a well made, heavy duty blender that should hold up to a lot of use, you will like this.

yeah, but if it works out that its the only blender you ever need and it lasts the rest of your life, then the price works out in the wash. I just feel bad for the folks who may buy it today and something tragic happens to them tomorrow. :(

...
Some people might say it's not a very smart idea to throw 6 lighters into a blender. Those people would be right.

All 80th blenders are tested in this manner. We never want to see a pilot without his margaritas.
