I've had my computer reboot several times when I'm in a GV... nevr happens in a plane ... just vehicles.. Any Ideas?
-
are you using a custom sound pack? May be a bad sound file causing it.
-
Negative. Everything is stock. All drivers are up to date.
-
Your video card could be working harder in GV's as it has more to render and that could be causing your PC to reboot.
-
Would like to see a DXDIAG output as well. Did you do anything while the game was rebuilding its cache, such as minimize it? Are you running any anti-virus or security programs when the game is running? How about another sound program?
-
I think it may be my Trittion AXPC Headset :furious
DXDIAG has too many characters to post here :furious

Did the video card come with that computer? Have you made any changes to the computer hardware since it was purchased?
-
Ah, the 7k series. Not on of NVidias finest moments. When was the last time you updated your Directx version? Some of these cards have a problem if you are using an old version of Directx. It may say Directx 9C but I am more concerned with the release month you are using. I highly recommend downloading the March08 release. in fact I have been nice enough to provide a link to it.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&displaylang=en (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&displaylang=en)
This may or may not fix it but will eliminate one of the questions.
It's unlikely that this is an integrated card, now the only question is: did it come with the PC or is it after market?
How many items and what types of items do you have plugged in through your USB ports?
When I had my webcam plugged in I would get a similar crash, I simply un plug my cam when I am flying. This is attributed to the having a mic on the cam and having my headset plugged in. the software was asking for a mic input and my hardware was getting confused as to which one should respond. You may try the same thing if you have any external devices hooked up apart from your headset.

I have exactly the same problem. It was happening in the previous version whenever I was killed in a GV. In the new version it happens whenever I de-spawn. It immidiately shuts off my computer, and the next time I re-start I get a message saying "this machine has recovered from a serious error." The problem only started after I installed a sound blaster sound card. I will remove the card and see if it still it still does it. I wonder if it could be the power supply is not enough for the video card and sound card, but it is curious that at least two people are having the exact same problem at the same moment.
-
If it is an E-machine, you cannot change the hardware configuration without changing the power supply as they come with minimal power supplies.
-
You can change the hardware config of an E-machine, you just have to pay attention to the needs of the cards that you are placing in the machine. You need to make sure that the P-leads that you are plugging them in to have the output that they need. You need to check the rating of your power supply to see if it can support what you are trying to install. You have to use a little common sense. Most E-Machines power supplied are rated between 250-350 watt power supplies, This is enough to run solid video cards and sound cards.

Most recent update: Re-installed sound drivers. I am not sure if this fixed the squelch problem, but it had no impact on re-boot. Removed the sound card entirely to find out if it was the last little bit drain on the power supply needed to cause the video card to fail, and AH would not boot up at all. Changed my video card settings to ultra low, low detail, 256 models, and it still crashed (besides looking terrible). So it is not the level of graphic detail pushing the video card to hard, but it could be the power supply still.
However, I may never know, since AH in now refusing to boot after I changed the settings. :cry  :furious
-
The AH not booting issue after changing video settings may be fixed by deleting the video8.cfg file.Which is located here. C:\Program Files\HTC\Aces High II\settings There will be a bunch of files, but just keep pressing the V key until it brings you the video8.cfg file.
Note, that deleting that file and after setting video settings that everything will need to re-cache itself (I think thats the word, and I think it will need to do that) If indeed it does need to re-cache, remember not to minimize the game while it's doing so. Also, if this gets you back in the game, another trick you may try is to take your sound acceleration down a notch. To do this, start/run/type in dxdiag then move to the sounds tab and if its set to full take it down a notch. (this is assuming you haven't already done so)
The auto rebooting issue, may be fixed by right clicking my computer/properties/advanced/startup and recovery/settings. Then see if automatic reboot is checked. If it is, uncheck it. Then, instead of auto rebooting it should give you a blue screen of death with a long error code. Write this code down, then google this code. That may point you in a direction on something else to try to resolve this issue.
Regards.
