Gentlemen,
I ask of you before posting the hangar queen comments, please consider this aircraft's historical significance. Also consider that it would be a great bomber for the German planeset because the bomber plane set is rather slim pickings. Furthermore it would be greatly useful for senarios and FSOs, not all the comunity care for taking out the latest 1944-45 hotrod all the time. Some like myself like to fly the older hardware for the challenge that it represents, as well as some feel certian connections to a particular fighter/bomber that they just do not get from other planes. For me this wouold be that plane, as is my 109 for the fighter aspect. This plane could be coaded in several versions as the B.25 was, as it too had many variants. Here are some stats for it for those that may have 1, forgotten or 2, just never cared to look.

Maximum bombload of up to 4,409lbs held internally and up to 4,409lbs fitted externally.
So I close by asking that those of you that want this plane as much as I do, make your voices known. HTC has given to the community two versions of a new fighter and a facelift for another, so asking for a bomber to flesh out the German bomber set is not unreasonable. Yes I do realize that there are numerous old threads on this subject via the search button, however I saw that they were all rater dated and I thought it more prudent to start this one. Thank you for your time.

I agree.....we need this plane.
Is that a total of 8818lbs of ord?
Or is it one or the other?
Strip
-
eiter or. Not both. It depends on what bomb packge taken. The total was still 4,409lbs.
-
YES! :aok
-
The external bomb mounts blocked the internal bomb bay doors. Definitely either/or, not both.
However, there were only the 2 mounts under the fuselage, so you'll be trading 20x 50kg bombs for 2x 1000kg bombs. You get more punch but much less to salvo!
(weight loads up there are approximate, I would need to double check what the actual loads were)
-
Only reason I approve this German Bomber request is so that in the next BofB scenario our Hurri mk1's will have something
1. that they can catch
2. That will break under 303 fire
3. Slow enough to kill more than one after your initial pass
the extra realism of a BofB pilot wrecking German scrap metal instead of it getting away!
-
Well, Bruv, I've got some stories of RAF Hurricane Mk.I pilots attacking a lone Heinkel, all attacking it one after the other in a relentless manner. They expended all their ammo, lost one of their wingmen, and the plane limped off. It was trailing oil and probably didn't make it across the channel, but still it was nowhere near an instant kill :D
-
Probably some 2 week noobs all chasing one kill.
I'm sure I will do just fine shooting em !
-
999000 :noid
-
^---- will still fly B-17s because they will be a heckuva lot more lethal and durable than a formation of He111s.
Keep in mind the 20mm had limited ammo, and was a forward firing ground strafing gun (forward window of the gondola, most times). The nose gun is 7mm. The rear gondola is 1x 7mm (I don't recall reading 2x 7mms in this position) and 2 narrow-field beam guns are 7mm. The dorsal is listed as 13mm but I have seen more that state it's a 7mm.
Armed, sure. But armed like a Ki67 that's run out of 20mm ammo.
-
I would definately fly these around. Heck maby I would even start bombing again as opposed to Jabo.
-
I'd hit it. The Heinkel is one of those planes I loved way before I ever knew about games like Aces High. It and the B-25 have soft spots in my heart. I fly the supposed hangar queen B-25C almost every time I bomb, so I can say I'd use the He111 often (and you know I mean it!)
-
all in all, it carries more than the B-17. I wonder why people dont want it.
-
It does not carry more than a B17. Nor does it fly higher nor does it fly faster.
It's very much an early war design, don't forget that.
-
Absolutely yes! As well as the HE-111, we also need the JU-52, and G4M Betty added if for nothing more than realism in EW setups. So, let's offically request these for futer updates. Wouldn't mind the P-36 and Brewster Buffalo included in there as well.
-
Nice to see y'all onboard with this He-111 request. :D
I would really like to see this plane added. Good for EWA, FSO, Senarios, and for those eccentrics that liek to fly "Hangar Queens" in the LWA.
-
like every thread on this, i say YES!
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D
:aok :aok :aok :aok :aok :aok :aok

Well, so far the He-111 seems to be a fairly popular plane. Why it has not made it yet into this game is beyond my reckoning. You would think it would be a given.
-
He-111 - YES! :salute
We can't do a real BoB scenario without it, and it was also used on the eastern front. It's an oversight that this aircraft is not already included before the rare perk monsters and other novelties.
-
It made me laugh when the BoB patches came out and there were 2 heinkels on it. We haven't even got Heinkels and they made it on! So I say yes
P.s Daddyack, im another one who flies the 'Hanger Queens'. Spit 1 is my MA ride always
-
I agree He-111 for me!
I voted for it, and it got cut off the list.
I fly hanger-queens so I say yes.
-

I know, you and I flew some together before I took my 3 months off from AHII. Remember me pickin' with you about the accent? :P Glad to hear from you man, what arena are you in usually so we can wing up a few sorties.
-
I do not usually bump threads, especially my own. But this topic is near and dear to me, and I think resurecting this thread would be in better taste than starting yet another one. :aok
-
the he 111 was the first model i made when i was ill in hospital as a child.
i have always loved the shape and look of the plane and personaly would use it a lot more then the
b25 and the p39 which i dont use.
Plus you could always sling a v1 under it a lob them towards a base too :rock
-
Yes. Its time for the 111. While there are other bombers I'd rather see, like the TU-2 or the PE-2, the 111 had such a large presence in the war it really should be in the game.

YES!!!
You know what else we can use the He111 for besides BoB we can use it for the chinese airforce which operated some He111s against the Japanese but they were like B and C models I think, but we can give the H-6 a chinese skin and have some zero vs 111 fights.
-
we can give the H-6 a chinese skin and have some zero vs 111 fights.
That's Like A Mosquito Versus A Bf109.
-
Vans, the HE-111 had 2 waist gunners sporting 1 port and 1 starboard 7mm. Along with the nose, dorsal, andventral position.
-
he111 perfect for battle of brittian AvA
-
I would use her in the MAs as well. The fact that this bird is not already included baffles me as it was the Luftwaffe's primary bomber alongside the JU-87 the the JU-88. Heck it saw service since the Spanish Civil War.
BTW, have y'all seen the pictures of what they looked like with a standard type cockpit as opposed to the all glass/frame on teh nose? Just don't look quite right. :D
-
I agree this would be a great plane to have in FSO and AVA. Currently I am on the allied side in AVA so I cannot say what bomber is given the axis side but I would suspect the JU-88. But remember the Ju-88 did not come on line until 1939 but in limited numbers at first in WWII so the He-111 would be a nice fit for those of us who like a true historical ride. It is not a super star bomber but the 4k payload could bring along some good damage with just a flight of 111's or if you had a few people flying them together. We look at the B26, B25 and those payloads are not to much more if not less. Anyway I think it would be a good addition if technically possible.

Loll Daddyack, apologies for taking so long to reply, im amazingly busy atm. When im on I fly knights in the LW Orange. Be darn good to wing with someone such as yourself sir. I remember you well and those sorties were always fun, Im just surprised you remember me
-
<said while running for cover>---> Also He-111 launched V1 rockets.
-

Thats just what wikipeadia said.

Hmmm. Yeah, thats right I imagined these guns were there. :aok

I dig the new avitar, thats funny. Took me a while to figure out it's not just one
bannana dancing. :rofl
-
IN :aok
-
Allrighty, lets keep the positive requests rollin' for this bird. I hope one day to use it in game. :aok
-
i dont think that would have to keep the positives going for it, i believe that it and the panther will be hopefully in the next big update. So i think its a sure in to the game, also the ju-52 is a sure in.

HE 111 Z :noid :noid
(http://www.kheichhorn.de/assets/images/DualHeinkel111.jpg)
-
Sweet mother of Hitler! :O
-
HE-111Z would be a mute point without the gliders they were intended to pull.
-
That leaves only one solution DaddyAck. :D
Strip
-
Nah, all the high powered LWA rides would rape and pillage the slow Giant gliders. I just would be happy enough to see an AHII He-111 finally here. :D
Mmmmm...
Im getting all warm and fuzzy just thinking about it. :aok
-
yes!
donkey
-
Sweet, this thread has got Donkey's seal of approval. :aok
:salute
Yes, we need all of y'all fellow He-111 peoples to voice out your wanting of this bird. :D
-
<Salute> Early warbird lovers!
He-111 - Yes!
Ju-52 - Yes!
Mitsubishi G4M - Yes!
Brewster Buffalo - Yes!
These are essential Early War models, along with some oddities (I-16, CR-42, Gladiator, Blenheim).
I would be happy with the He-111 and the G4M.
<Salute>
-
I would support the G4M too, as it was as significant as the 111.
-
Page two? No it ain't. Yeah, I think it's a better choice than a lot of things. I want a rider on this for the Sparviero, though. :aok
-
I can dig it! I had a thread for more Regia Aeronautica too....
Ofcourse that thread is now buried beyond page 2, they call them hangar queens...
I said MC.200, CR.42, G.50... well you get the idea.
-
Argh burried again, now was on page 3...
Rather than make another thread Im a gonna bump this one.
:aok
Really would like tho have this historically significant Luft bomber.... :rock
