Starting with the last update, and continuing with today's, I am no longer able to expand the text buffer to 16 lines. I checked key mapping, and it's okay. Anybody else see this? :huh

It has been working fine for me...

Works without problem here
-
Hey Panzerr I also have the same problem. I have had it for a while and can't figure it out. I chalked it up to a Laptop problem. :(
-
Thanks Spikes and Lusche -
Marshall - PC here - I haven't figured it out yet either, but will post what I find - if I ever figure it out.
Thanks -

When you say it's mapped, what AH item is mapped? Have you tried mapping it to a different key and seeing if that works?
-
Hi Pyro -
The original AH mapping uses the tilde key to expand the text buffer. I unmapped and remapped the tilde key, and tried mapping the expand function to a different key, then remapped to the original tilde key. None of these variations expanded the text buffer.

Tell me the name of the function that you're mapping.
-
Pyro - To answer more accurately, "Message Window Size" is the AH function name which is supposed to be mapped to the tilde key.
Thanks - Panzerr

Try going into your Aces High II folder and rename your "settings" folder to "oldsettiings". This will take you back to a default installation and that will tell us whether it's some inherent problem that's surfaced or just a configuration issue.
-
Thanks Pyro - I will give this a whirl later today after work, and will post any results.
Thanks - Panzerr

Okay - so I'll be a couple minutes late....
I renamed the folder and reloaded AH. Same thing - no message window size expansion - still 3 lines max. Now I really have to go!
Thanks again :aok

Pyro - Nope, just the standard issue kb that came with the computer. HP m7674n XP Media Center Edition version 2002 service pack 2. Intel Core2 1.6 GHz, 2 GB ram.

I have the same keyboard as you, and my tilde key, and [] keys work fine in game. Do you have the keyboard software running while play AH? I do, if you don't that might be a possible reason why.

just a quick note, I can map the " message window size" to a Joystick button and it works fine.

Thanks Vati! I tried it and it works well! :aok :aok :aok

Bumb!! maping it to the joystick is a work around, not a fix

I understand that it's a work-around....
It'll work for the time being, until a legitimate fix is determined.
