Title: Installer still uses the Default location, i.e. C:\Program Files.....

would it not be better to check the registry first?

Mine never has; always E:\Program Files\Aces High II like it ought to.

EDIT: Which is hilarious because I recently wiped the OS drive, meaning the registry shouldn't even remember the game.

Mine went just fine. 

I'd check your registry entry if I were you.  Make sure the path is correct.

For some mysterious reason, mine always try to something like "...\ACESHI~1" instead of "...\Aces High II"  :huh

Welcome to DOS and its 8 character file/folder display name limit. Folders with longer names, say ...\HTC\Aces High I and ...\HTC\Aces High II would be ...\HTC\ACES H~1 and ...\HTC\ACES H~2 (though I'm not sure if spaces were allowed/counted). Any-dang-way, sometimes they display that way even today; it's legacy.

I know about how dos see long names, but AH installer isnt dos application, right? :)
(btw, no spaces afaik)
