Would be cool to have a glider not show up on radar if it was carrying troops to a base...

Well, it could be an option if you wanted to go use a double-base taking stradegy. Drop glider with troops, then bring your goon to the other base.

It would be neat. Being towed by a C-47 to a base, let go a little ways out, land (hopefully), and drop 10 troops. However, I'd like it so if you take the Glider you can't take troops for the C-47 then. Otherwise HT will increase the number of troops needed to take a base.

Nice idea - I like it  :aok

Just a thought: perhaps it could be a sort of "gunner" feature - you'd join someone who was in a C-47, and who had taken a glider with them (or had not taken off but had selected the glider option), and then you might also have the glider be controlled by an A.I. if the C-47 pilot could not find anyone to control his glider.

P.S.
C(Sea)Bass, we do have a search feature, which, by definition, is for when people want to find something.  I think 1sum41 posted this in order to bring it to peoples' attention: whether he searched or not is irrelevant - perhaps he found an old post, and used it for an idea or two?

I like the idea of troop/vehicle transport... then again all open ground should be spiked with Rommel’s asparagus. In that case landing of gliders would be somewhat difficult just in the end to get shot up to pieces by flak guns.

The SMF Search function is crap compared to vB.

The Gliders didn't carry shermans but they did carry M22s and Artillery

The standard WW2 arrangement was either the C-47 would tow a glider OR it would carry troops, not both.  A great a work horse as the C-47 it, if just didn't have all the muscle it took to take both reliably.

Plus, as you just point out, this would lead to an exploit in the game that would need to be addressed by upping the number of troops needed or some other method.

I think it would be neat for historical scenarios.  But I like quirky, unussual planes.
