I was at a blinking field. There was a wirblewind parked on the end of the runway vulching fresh planes. I upped a T34 and rushed to him (Yeager or Yeager1, can't recall) and here's how he was doing it:
There was a slight incline past the airfield tile. He was almost at the crest of it, and it was shallow enough that I could only see his turret, his entire turret, as I was driving toward him. I was looking left and right at the inactive ack guns. None were firing on him. He was vulching with impunity for some time. I took out his turret in 1 shot, and as he ran killed him with 1-2 more, but the ack never once shot at his fully exposed turret.
Does the ack only aim for the hull or treads? I think that's a pretty big bug, as he wasn't even hiding. He was in plain sight.

Had the ack guns been destroyed?

Was he in plain sight or hiding behind a hill? :noid I don't think the ack has ever fired at just a turret.
-
Ack guns were not destroyed, he was not behind a hill, he was visible from the hull up (which is about 1/2 his total height).

I could be mistaken, but I believe the ack fires at the pilot/driver's position, and requires a line of sight within a particular range. It will try to shoot through hedges, but I don't know if it will try to track and fire at targets hidden by the terrain. I have been able to do something similar with Osti's in the past, and have seen tanks do the same thing, so I tend to think it's not just the WWs.

That actually makes me feel worse!! :rofl
Would be nice if ack could turret a GV as well as kill it.
