Title: P-39 Flaps View
Post by: MOSQ on March 21, 2008, 11:33:37 PM
From the cockpit when you look out at the wings you can't see any flap movement. From F3 they are viewable, but not inside the cockpit. I have to look because the flap indicator on the control panel is itsy bitsy. And no controls/levers move in the cockpit to indicate where the flaps are set.

And as previously reported the Q shoots much higher than the gunsight. The D does not have this issue.

I think the P-39 has split flaps.

You're right, it does have split flaps. No wonder dropping flaps doesn't help much in the turn department.

Would be nice to have a better in cockpit indicator.
