Title: Wirbelwind Gunsight
Post by: Larry on March 22, 2008, 10:29:07 AM
I put this sight together useing the .target offline. The main dot is for 100-500m the others are marked for the range. I wanted to post it to let you all test it out and see how it does agenst moving targets. Post any feedback and I will fix any bugs with it.

I could make one for the osti but because of bullet dispersal it may not work good. Iv already tested it at 1k 1.5k and 2.0k. I fired 500 rounds at each range and found that alot hit the same place so it would work.

Larry i just tried it and it seems that both marks are a little low.

Edit: the 1000 mark seems okay but i the 1500 was low, i raised the mark up just a tad and it looks a lot more accurate.

Gunsights have to be .bmp, so the .jpg Barnes828 posted cannot be used.

After you put a custom sight in the folder, it can be set in Options > Preferences > Gunsights from the clipboard.

The fist one was tested at 1k altitude. Because altitude affects bullet drop the higher you are the bullets will drop less. I found that the 1000 piont works at almost all altitudes but the 1500 will be off above about 3k.

Nice job TK.  I used it & like it.  Here's another version for anyone, still in .bmp format.

Weird.  It's in .bmp format til I host it via Imageshack, then it changes to .png.  Here it is in .jpeg format.

Note:  I wasn't trying to steal TK's work with this.  I like the sight, I'm just not too big on red sights and wanted something I would personally use.  <S> all
