New to skinning so be gentle....
I downloaded the hi-res pack, switched the video settings to 1024, let it cache, and saved the default skin.....now.
When I checked the properties of the default bitmap it was 256x256. I know skinning is done in 1024X1024 resolution so did I already screw something up? The skin in question is the tempest if it matters.
I was thinking I might have to resize the bitmap? Also what DPI do most skinners use?
I know theres alot of things that can ruin my day so ANY tips or help on other things is welcomed.

What skin? Only the "redone" planes have the higher resolution.

The skin in question is the tempest.........now that you mentioned it I went back to look at the La7s default and its 1024.
With that in mind do I need to resize any skin not 1024 resolution? What DPI do most use?
If anyone has some skin suggestions I would love to here them. I would like to try a Allied skin but other than that I am pretty open to type, theater, and colors.

DPI is for printers only. You do not resize the old files you work with them at their size.

Arg thats a lot of detail for a 256 bitmap.
Maybe DPI is a bad word choice...pixels is what I am thinking.
