Title: Film viewer problem
Post by: Rich46yo on March 23, 2008, 03:27:23 AM

I cant understand this one and hope someone can help me with it. I save all my films to C-drive/program files/HTC/Films folder. Actually the game saves them as default. I have about 64 films in the folder but in windows explorer I can only see 11 of them. I have to actually open the film viewer app and use the open file command to see all the films. I triple checked them and they are in the same location but I cant manage them and delete them in explorer cause they dont show up in the file. In other words the film viewer shows 64 films and explorer only shows 11.

They are getting unwieldy and probably slowing down my system. I want to start editing some films but have to figure out whats going on here. Any ideas? Thanks.

it sounds me as if you've converted 11 over to .avi , and the others are still in the acehigh movie format.

Sounds like you are running Vista and the films are actually stored in the special 'user' folder where Vista places files and folders when you are not the administrator for the computer.

The film viewer is accessing that 'special' user folder while you are navigating into the regular Aces High II folder using Explorer.  At some time you must have either transferred files to the computer or created them while running the game as Administrator, wihch would aco bigtoe for why there is a 'film; folder at all in the game's normal installation path.

This is Microsoft's UAC (User Access Control) and virtualization technology in Vista doing all this for you.

Yeah that sounds like it makes sense Skuzzy, even If I dont remember doing it. Any idea what the quickest fix would be? Right now the account im on is the main/admin account for the computer.

Try searching for the 'films'  folder and see if there are multiple instances of it.
