This is actually a most effective way to kill Gophers.
It is more fun, though, to shoot them, and make them explode.

That is why I prefer to make them explode, so that they will not suffer in any way at all. They are dead before they can realize what has happened.
I could never hunt game with a bow and arrow, for example. I consider bow hunting way too cruel. For you basically have to patiently wait for the animal to eventually bleed to death.

A seasoned bow hunter always shoots for quick death spots such as the heart.

Do you realize that the broadheads on an arrow are as sharp as a surgeon's scalpal? I used to bowhunt in highschool, and done correctly (like everything), lots of time the animal doesn't even realize its been hit. I shot a doe one season from about 23 yards. She flinched a little bit, her tail went up briefly, and she continued to walk as if nothing was remotely the matter. She dropped about 40 feet from where I hit her.
Not to hijack the thread, but IMO, bowhunting is WAY more humane than hunting with a rifle. People who bowhunt, practice religiously, and IMO are more likely to make a clean kill than then people who only pick up their rifle once a year, go out, blaze away, resulting in gut shots, shot off legs etc. Obviously not that every rifle hunter is like that, but a lot are and I've seen more than my fair share of them.

RODENATOR Now THAT'S a handle. Who was it that was looking for a new name?
Personally, I think that was the name of the "sniper" hillary was talking about........ pity he either had a misfire or missed.

Just had a great mental image of you pumping an attic full of propane/air, firing it off and the roof looking like the surface of the ground when he shot that thing :rofl

Mac you might want to consider Zoloft or Prozac for that . They work on bats in the belfry ......they got to work on possums in your attic!
