Well, first of all, it's not japanese controlled, so they have no right putting a memorial for THEIR soldiers unless the americans had one first. 2nd, the guy makes good point on how the Japanese bayonetted and burned the wounded, something you wouldn't see happen at the hands of American soldiers.  I think there should be a memorial stating: "To all AMERICANS who sacrificed their lives for thier country"

I simply posted this for informational purposes. Everyone is entitled to their own feelings about it.

Or maybe it's the fact that people don't READ anymore.

The third paragraph of the article reads:

"An inscription, in Japanese and English, reads: "In memory of all those who sacrificed their lives in the islands and seas of the North Pacific during World War II and in dedication to world peace."

It's a monument to all who died.

Kind of crazy looking for WWII Monument, but I understand why it's there.

It IS goofy looking, especially for a war memorial. I'd have thought that something like a nice marbled obelisk, or a short slab, with a bronze plaque inscription(Kinda like the ones' you will see at Civil War Memorials') would look more appropriate.

That thing looks' like some kind of weather-testing apparatus.
