No amount of nuts will save the show this time. CBS has officially (and permanently) pulled the plug on Jericho. Tonight's episode will be the last. :cry

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Viewership went way down, what's a network to do?

The link is to a blog that gives a good sumation of what happened to Jericho. The LA Times also has a good article.
Bottom line is exactly as LePaul said. Ratings were down. There were several factors that hurt Jericho like extended hiatus, bad timeslot and diminished cast.
-
rpm agreed with me? Wow. Its cold in :devil
-
Odds were you'd eventually get one right. ;)
-
Oh well, it wasn't half bad. Hopefully we'll now get CSI: Toronto!
-
I hope they give it a proper ending.

Don't mess with Texas.
So long, Jericho. You will be missed.

Not necessarily . It is trying to be sold to cable. Sci Fi channel is expected to pick it up.
Don't mess with Texas.
<cough> The Republic Of Texas. :)

Where did you hear that? Everything I've read says it's dead. I'd love to see it return and they did leave it open for more episodes at the end, but this story arc is finished.

Read it on a couple of different sites.
Here`s one story link.

CBS has not really marketed the show well (i.e. Baliey's Tavern glasses) but I would LOVE to get one of those ROT Embassy plaques.
I really hope SciFi does pick up Jericho, but I'm not holding my breath. A lot of the cast has already scattered and committed to new work. A totally retooled Jericho would be basicly starting from scratch, but the way they left the story it's not impossible.

Hang around for a bit. The direction things are headed nowadays they could possibly be more than a few of those plaques scattered around the world.
We may even have to reopen our embassy in London. ;)
-
I tried watching that show. It just gets mired in too much soap for me. I like the pretense of the show though.
-
I think the show`s main problem , as far as CBS goes , is it gets a little too close to home in a lot of ways in today`s world.
Hopefully either Sci Fi or another cable channel will pick it up. Some of them are not too interested in being PC.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that you meant 'premise'. ;)

I would love to see professional wrestling exiled from the SciFi channel. I cant think of a better replacement!

So what happened on the series finale?
-
Texas saved the day. :aok
Oh yeah, there was a bit of aerial combat between ASA F-15's and TANG F-16's. :rock
-
COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!!!
Was it better than the air combat scenes in 'Iron Eagle'?
;)
-
Well anything is better than Iron Eagle.
-
Texas saved the day. :aok
Never watched Jericho.... must be some sort of fantasy like LOTR?
sorry.
-
Holden it's the story of a small Kansas town after a major nuclear attack on the US.
-
My insult was that if Texas saved the day, it must be a fantasy
Once again I apologise.

great show.. love to see it picked up by someone who wouldn't put a commercial in every 5 minutes.
Love the fact that the last of the free states was Texas.
Also.. did you notice that the first thing the tyrannical government did was get rid of the right to keep and bear arms? "can't control people if they can shoot back"
It was a show that didn't lean left enough to survive in my opinion. I mean... guns good? Texas= freedom? that will never do.
lazs

"can't control people if they can shoot back"
Yeah..I caught that line also. Pretty profound .

Just saw the finale. Good rap up of the main story line (even if it was rushed) and the ending was good ... even if it was a bit Pyhrric considering what was about to happen to America.

Hope someone picks it up, I've enjoyed it.

Never watched it but what was about to happen to America?
-
Civil war.
-
Civil war.
LOL
Civil war was already happening and had been for some time.
-
The goal of the main plot revolved around which way Texas chose to ally herself. If Texas allied herself with the Cheyenne government Cheyenne would have the strength to conquer the other free states. If Texas fell in with the free states they would have a fighting chance against the Cheyenne government. I did not get the impression that there was a full blown war going on between the two factions ... yet. In fact the Jake and Hawkins characters were quite somber contemplating the inevitable war they would spark off after flying the nuke to Texas.

Psssssssst...did you happen to notice who did the bombing to start with? :)
-
Yes, a lone terrorist (manipulating a company) who tried to destroy J&R and a corrupt government. That's not a civil war. ;)
-
In that case , the civil war was not a civil war. ;)
-
Uncivil war? :aok
