Title: Video Card Performance
Post by: 5PointOh on March 26, 2008, 08:30:10 AM
I have a question maybe someone can help with.  AH says (according to the ALT I feature) that I have 545m of video memory, but its only using 3.1m, should my PC be using more, and if so, how can I make my PC use more of the memory?

This is the first i've heard the ctrl I does not work as presented,  If this is the case would like to hear more about it.  Reason being I got new puter an in uncogested areas can get FRs in the 250 area.  Even high traffic
furball situations rarely drop below 140.  Would like to read more on this subject

if your frame rates are that high you are running with V-sync turned off, and as per skuzzy says AH doesn't like V-sync turned off. Causes rubber bullet syndrome and other anomalies that I've forgotten.

Skuzzy has said that the Alt I is inaccurate. (Hopefully I quoted him correctly)

The video memory is not reported in any consistent manner.  It can be ignored.  The rest should be ok.  We can interpret it, but you have to understand what it means to do so.  In almost all cases it is not talking about physical memory of the video card versus the actual data.
