Kitsap and King Counties already gave him a $200,000,000.00 welfare check for which the rest of the state is expected to pay.  What more does he need?

Historical usage of the swastika is permitted.  Just not entertainment as in AH.

Beauty!

I like the leather helmet and goggles on the tailplane, too.  Nice touch of authenticity.

Why, exactly, is he moving the collection to Everett?
Is arlington too much of a bodink little town to deserve "his" aircraft?

One thing that I marvel about with Paul's 109 work is not the frame, which is easily enough fabricated/rebuilt with enough $$$, the real beauty of the work is the ENGINE!

Not many DB601's in decent condition these days, and from what I recall, they rebuilt one entirely for Paul's Emil.

You should try bending sheet metal someday, or maybe forming that Emil's cowling.  You will very quickly realize why there is such a limited number of exotic aircraft in existence.

As for engines, there is talk of new sand molds to replace the very limited number of blocks available.  That and heads and banks are the limiting factor on these engines.  Pistons, rings, valves, cranks, and cams exist.

Rare = DB801's, but somehow many of these are popping up too.

Truly rare = Nakajima Sakae engines.

For the $1 lease he got on the former USAF hangar that will house his collection.  All he had to do was renovate it.  Paine field will soon be a major hub for aircraft collections.  All kinds of cools stuff:

Paul Allen's collection as a flying museum
John Sessions' collection as a flying museum
Me 262 project which is also restoring 2(!) Me109F's
Museum of Flight Restoration Center
Add the Future of Flight center and the Boeing tours too.

Lucky Bastage getting to fly THAT! Unfortunatly he's now lumbered with a serious problem.

No one is going to believe that he flies a German WW2 Fighter plane!
