There's a place on I-4 between Orlando and Tampa called Fantasy of Flight...  It had a room setup like he deck of an aircraft carrier with 8-10 cockpits that could be set up as either corsairs or hellcats, I believe...  Like $30 to get in, but you get to go through a neat museum, 2 decked out hangars, and then end up at the sims.

How long this been around? `Cause it's 100% the dream I had in mind five years back. Course, yaknow, the differences `tween dreams and reality ....

It's been around since the mid 90's...  You go into the museum and it has a history of flight.  The first room is a WWI scene that has you walking through foxholes as a biplane is suspended overhead.  The next room is a night scene of a flightline that has you walking through a B-17.  Then you go into the hangars and see some pretty cool stuff.  The sims at the end used to be more elaborate, which I think they dumbed down due to costs.  The graphics aren't as good as AH2, but the experience is worth it.  They used to have a guy manning the tower calling out check sixes and stuff.  You had to call for clearance to take off and land, which was cool.  I don't think they do that anymore, but it's still a neat way to kill a couple of hours.

Its not central Florida, but the museum at NAS Pensacola has de-commissioned F-14 simulators. Its $25 for a 20 minute session with a live controller spotting you on strafing runs, A2A engages, carrier traps, etc. My grandson and I had a blast with that (he rode as my RIO, did all the missile releases).
