There is a step-by-step tutorial in the help file.  Is there a question about it?

Skuzzy, the tutorial seems to be a little short on detail.

For example, I was trying to make a mission from "scratch". It was going to be a simple takeoff, orbit the field and then land. I have yet to figure out why, when I leave the briefing room, I am instantly back in the tower with a message that I have crashed. when I run the mission in the editor it seems to run fine, the x follows the path and then lands. I assume that I've done something wrong with the first way-point segment (perhaps I'm spawning into the ground)but, it's not clear enough to a dolt :)like me yet!

I created a stuka mission from scratch using the BOB map.  I found pressing the end segement button and calculate button fixes a lot of the issues I was having..  Only weird thing is that the stuka drops their bombs from 15k with pin point accuracy... lol

Thanks Soda,
That at least helped me clear up one issue but didn't fix my mission.

AN IMPORTANT NOTE: Not sure I've seen this in the help or tutorial (I might have missed it) If you modify a parameter in the segment (Speed/Time ect...) you need to hit the calculate button in each segment after that one to update the mission time data.

I can believe we need to polish up the documentation some more.  First pass and all.  Giving us some clues on where to polish it up is helpful.  Thanks.

The tutorial is pretty thorough, good job guys.  I would make it a tad more visible in the help section than slightly buried in the Tools section of the contents.

If you're a visual learner, like myself, the help file tutorial is around 25-50% helpful.  I can't make heads or tails out of it because I need more visual clues to what the help file is referring to.   Call it - Mishun Idioter Help for Dummies  :D

For example - I'm following the tutorial in the help file.  I'm at step 3.

It states:
Quote
Step 3: Place the Route

Double-click on the field where one side of mission will start. This brings your view close-in to field.

Right-click on the mission (in the Mission tree view) to bring up the Route menu.
Select "Add WayPoints".
Now each time you click the cursor in the world view you will place a waypoint for the flights in the mission to follow. Continue placing way points along the path you want your planes to fly. A few things to remember:
Ok, I double-clicked on the field.  Nice. I right click on the mission (I created a mission? Did I miss something?)  I right click on it but there is no 'Add Waypoints."
Here are my options:
- Add Mission, Delete Mission, Mission Properties, Add Route, Add Event, Refresh Events, Play Brief Events, and Stop Brief Events.  Where is Add Waypoints? I haven't even added any aircraft yet. I just finished creating the mission group, selecting the map, then double clicked on the field where I want the mission to start and it zooms in.  There is a something missing.  Anyone?  :cry

you want to click add route and start laying down your waypoints on the map. here is a tutorial that I did which is mostly the tutorial that came with the editor but with pics to show you what you need to do.

Thanks dkff49 - I'll take a look when I get home.  Guess this points out to the big holes in the mission editor tutorial...   :D

for the most part. It will at least show where to find the items that you need and give you a few hints on what to avoid. I need to make some minor modifications to it now though. will be fixed soon though.
