Alright, I keep hearing that the AR234's rear gun is radar controlled. Since I'm the biggest dweeb of a whole bunch of people who want to know, I find it as my duty as a squeaker to know :lol
Then to tell all who wonder about it. :D

Neither our is, nor the real one ever was.
-
Just use F3 mode and look backwards to aim it. Not a precise science but it works.
-
why not just use the reason the plane exists as a defense?
S-P-E-E-D :aok
-
Well, I was pretty sure it was a no. I was thinking about that after I posted it, but hey, it's up to the squeakers to ask the questions for the regular people :lol

No radar in the tail of the Ar234 for guns. The only Ar234s fitted with guns were to be the Ar234Cs and a few experiment installations on some Ar234Bs.

The gun was aimed with the aft facing periscope that you see in the top right-hand corner of the cockpit.
Move your head position around and you can look into it. Of course, the scope doesn't actually show anything at all, as it has not been coded to do so (too hard/ FR killer.. something like that... it has been discussed before).
In game, just do as has already been said.... F3.
Don't fire your guns until you're absolutely ready to, if you hold your fire many people will get careless and assume that you do not know how to use the guns.

oh okay :aok

That works against anything but a 262 or a 163, but I've actually killed two 262's that tried to chase me down with my rear gun (F3 looking backwards). :aok
I also went buff hunting after dropping ord one day. I ran into 3-4 flights of B-17's. I took two passes at them, diving under then popping up in front of them firing. I lost 1 of my 234's and both the others got shot up bad and all I did was smoke one of the B-17's but at least I tried and it was fun.

tecnetnly we should have a periscop to aim the canons

Jesus man... please pay more attention in English class.
'tecnetnly'? I'm not trying to be a salamander here but that's bad.
Do you mean 'technically'? Do yourself a favour and bookmark this page: www.dictionary.com (http://www.dictionary.com)
Also, if you'd taken the time to read the few posts in this thread you'd see that I've already covered why we do not have the periscope.

It has been discussed before. Many moons ago, the green-skinned beast known as Supahfry stated that coding the periscope was giving them migraines. They never could figure out just how to get it working. So to prevent that release from being bogged down by one feature that didn't work, the periscope was axed. The physical model is still there, and they may yet figure it out when the Ar234B gets reworked. But for now, F3 is your only real aiming method.
