I would like to see the he 219 bomber. the bomber carried it own radar and was used at a bomber interceptor at night. I would like to have the 251 with the 75mm gun and the m3 with the 75 mm gun.

This should be in the wishlist forum.

valdals, the Uhu wasn't a bomber, it was a purpose-built night fighter. And although, the performance was quite impressive for a night fighter, I don't think the 219 would fare too well in the daylight-only MA. It has no appreciable bomb load, and as a fighter, far more maneuverable planes would "eat it's lunch". (although 110G vs 219 duels would be cool :D)
This is a real shame, because the 219 is an awesome airplane. :aok

He219's performance was not nearly as good as claimed. Never broke 400mph in service and had a climb rate barely above 2000ft/min. Most of the numbers you can find for it are Heinkel's claims, not actual Luftwaffe experience.

No argument here Karnak. However, compared to the other Luftwaffe night fighters (Ju-88C/G's, etc) the 219 is still pretty impressive. It was somewhat underpowered and suffered from high wing-loading, but the combat debut of the three pre-production planes (provided the Luftwaffe accounts are true) against the RAF is hard to argue with. I think it certainly would have done a number on marauding Lancs.
I never claimed it was an "uber-weapon", however it does rank very high on the "Cool Scale".
Have you seen these?

That is one weird stick!

I saw the He219 in person when I visited the Udvar-Hazy hangar of the National Air & Space museum. Weird looking bird. They have an Ar234, a Do335, and an Fw190F there too. As well as the cockpit section of one of those Ho- flying wing things.

Love the 219, favorite model I put together as a kid.

if we had the 219 i would stop using the a20 as a bomber interceptor.

If your talking about the He219 owl it was designed as a prue night fighter and nothing else. It would make an awsome addition with upward firing 20mm's for lancs and other bombers without belly turrets.

:huh There are several planes in-game that can do the job better than the A-20.

BigPlay, the Schräge Musik guns were Mk108's (30mm not 20mm), and they're pretty much useless against a target who knows you're there. They worked great if you could creep up undetected to a bomber's low-6, but keep in mind that during daylight you're going to be spotted by the tail gunner or pilot long before you get into position to fire those monsters. (especially if they're using F3) Unless of course you think you can make a near vertical approach from underneath , level off and then take the shot, in which case I :salute you. If I had that kind of E, I think I'd just dive on the poor guy and let all those forward-firing cannon work their magic. :D

Gotta admit, I learned that the hard way back in my early days when I decided to get low and slow in a Dora to kill a "lowly" A-20.
Big Mistake :(

Your right they did have 30's there. I confused it with the Ju 88 and 110 night fighter version. The plane was rather fast and maybe a F3 view or a gunsight for could be used for the upward firing 30's. I know that's not accurate but neither are dive bombing Lancs. I usually don't have trouble getting under bombers and thought that would be another way of attacking them, just a thought.

The "Wulfs" are Bomber Interceptors. The Ta-152 and 262's are the best ones.
-
I actually perfer the 110 G for bomber hunting it's a lot tougher than the 262 or Ta152 plus more cannon rounds for bad shots like me. :aok
-
They had some 110s that had upward fireing cannons also...
-
110s has good guns but you get a PW very easy. A8 with the extra guns is the best buff hunter.

The 416mph number sees for the He219 was for striped a/c > no exhaust shrouds, no antenna, many guns removed. Hard to be a night fighter without radar and the glow of exhaust flames telling all where you are.

Still I'd like to have this AC in game, It's in my top 5 wish list for sure.
Just looks cool :rock

I very seldom get PW's flying 110's
