I thought it was a steaming bucket of poop.
If you liked that, you should watch Man of Fire (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0328107/). Story is almost the same, but they hired real actors.

Denzel
Now that's a real actor :aok

I liked both the punisher and man on fire.. they were quite different movies tho.. similar themes not the same.
The new one is directed by a woman? an action movie directed by a woman? one strike against it right there.. hard but probly not impossible to get past that.

Am I the only one who used to read the Punisher comic book? And understands that the movie was following the comic book line??? I know that with all you other old farts out there, there's at least a handful that used to read that comic book too. :)

And Man of Fire wasn't almost the same ~ it was an entirely different story. It was a good movie, but definitely no comparison in the storylines (except maybe that they both showed a LOT of them sitting around getting drunk & feeling sorry for themselves).
I think I'm in agreement with Lazs on this one, a woman directing a Punisher movie? Seems not right. Will definitely look for it when it comes out. :)

I liked the Punisher. I even liked Daredevil. The Phantom and the Shadow were awful.

This is my wifes favorite movie as well.

I don't think Jesus would like you reveling in such a violent movie. I hope you don't expose your children to it. Well actually I just hope you don't have children...... Yes I know jesus hates me and I am going to burn, so you can save your response. :O

I loved Daredevil... Jennifer Garner is one of my fav. actresses. [*ALIAS*]
And I didn't see Phantom or Shadow.

BTW, you guys' have seen BOTH Punisher movies? This latest one with Ray Stevenson as Frank Castle, and the earlier one which cast Dolf Lundgren? I was wondering which one you were referring to as a pile of poop?

I was talking about the Ray Stevenson movie.

I thought this was going to be about someone who punishes toilets

Hollywood has potatod every comic book hero I liked as a kid.
My all time fav is "The Silver Surfer", they potatod it, although I've heard the film was pretty good. I'd see it out of all of them.
The destroyed The Punisher, X-Men, Superman (after releasing the new one), Batman is now stupid, I REFUSE to even watch a second of Spiderman (Tobey MacGuire is an absolute tool and horrible actor).
Come on Hollywood how about Green Lantern? Wait, there is a movie in the works.

Why does that have to be an entirely bad thing? The comics that we enjoyed as kids would not as likely be of interest to our own kids had they not come out on the big screen. Now you can go onto ebay ~ get all of those comics that you loved & share them with your own son :) so he can enjoy them as much as you did!

Egad, can there BE a more perfect chick than Mom? She doesn't watch chick-flicks! :aok (TELL me you don't have a copy of Steel Magnolias laying about the house :D)

I think that says it all...uber cool. :aok

The Punisher freaking rocks. Old man: "May god be with you" Punisher:"Gods gonna sit this one out"

I remember seeing an *ahem* Adult toy named "The Punisher"

Doubtless the hero will have moments of deep self doubt and emotional turmoil, complicating a new relationship with a girl (who's suppposed to be ugly, but is actually a knockout when she takes off her glasses). By the end of the film, she'll die of a pollution related leukemia and the hero will dedicate himself to raising environmental awareness, while donating all proceeds of his heroic activities for cancer research.

Hey! Mom DID get her chick-flick :D

:lol I thought vengence for having killed his family was enough romance for that one movie. :)

Vaya con dios.
I really liked the new punisher. I went in expecting a body count movie, and was disappointed in that aspect.
If you couldn't tell that I like The Punisher, you only need to look to the left.
I hadn't heard of the new movie, I'm excited now.

Well, in her defense, one should note that Lexi Alexander is not your typical average woman.
She is a former Women's Kickboxing Champion from Germany.
It is said that she still has a pretty powerful right hand punch:

I've never been a big fan of Alec Baldwin, but he was absolutely HORRIFIC in The Shadow.
Did you know that The Shadow cost $40 million to make, and only grossed $32 Million at the box office??
No expense was sparred. They hired famous composer Jerry Goldsmith to create the music. They even hired the screen writer from Jurassic Park to write the script. The entire story and dialog was absolutely ludicrous at times!!
I have got to believe that the Shadow was the beginning of the downfall of Baldwin's career. Which he has only just recently managed to revive somewhat.

Roles that I feel Alec Baldwin absolutely nailed; Glengarry Glenn Ross, The Aviator, The Good Shephard, & The Departed.

I could not bring myself to see Glengarry Glenn Ross, as I had heard that there was just so much offensive and foul language in it. I even heard that the Lord's name was taken in vain on several occasions in the film.
I did see him in the Aviator, and thought he did a credible job, although in a rather minor supporting role.
-
Yeah, there is a lot of cussing in Glengarry Glenn Ross, but whoopee it's a great movie.
-
After listening to Baldwin cuss out his 12 year old daughter I have hard time liking anything he does.

ltardgloc... next you will tell me this woman director beats up men.
She is a woman. I rarely like movies women direct.

After listening to Baldwin cuss out his 12 year old daughter I have hard time liking anything he does.
Well, he was really upset with Basinger, and should have addressed his remarks to his ex. His visitation order only allowed one phone call a week, and it specified a specific day and time. He could not call his daughter on any other day, nor even at any other hour. Basinger's attorney had insisted on this in court, as she did not want to ever have to answer the phone when he called. And she said that allowing him to call at just any time or day would be too inconvenient for her. Yet, when he phoned, no one answered, even though it was the time the court had reserved for him to spend talking to his daughter.
He was obviously upset that he was being prevented from having any contact with his daughter. He just took his frustration out on the wrong person.
While Baldwin did say the words on the tape, it was Basinger who released the tape to the public.
So tell me, who is the one who used the child to their advantage??
Basinger is clearly a far better actor than Baldwin. But is she the better person? I sort of doubt it.

Women: shouldn't run for president, do complicated math, or direct Punisher movies.

Both.
What is really sad, the game that was made for The Punisher movie was actually better than the movie.

I don't think I've heard the Lord's name spoken in vain (or at all for that matter) in a movie, with the exception of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
